Old Friend Found My old friend and favorite car ever was recently rediscovered, after having lost its way for a few years. In the process of a divorce, moving and life’s other vicissitudes it sort of …well…disappeared. It was recently relocated but unfortunately it has shown up, much like its owner, aged, not in great shape and rather weathered by life’s encounters. Unfortunately, not much can be done for its owner but I’m sure the vehicle can be put back in prime condition with some love and attention. I’d enjoy seeing that happen. I have many great memories in regard to this car. In the early seventies I often picked up a lovely young lady friend (who must remain un-named, as she later became a public figure of some note) after her work day ended. She worked as a legal secretary in a downtown office and loved to ride around in my TR3 and I loved the fact that she often changed clothes in the car on the way to the lake (don’t ask how, it was sort of a Houdini trick) much to the enjoyment of adjacent male drivers in slow, heavy traffic. The top was always up, which made the gymnastics even more memorable and her response to the other drivers (“What are looking at?”) made it an unforgettable event each and every time.1959 Triumph TR3 The car was in the process of being restored at a professional collision. It was in good running condition when the project was idled. Since then, the components that have been removed (i.e. bumpers, lights trim, etc) have been lost. The vehicle has been stored inside since the mid 80's. The last picture is a shot of the hood vent showing the original blue paint. This would make a good starter for a restoration project. The vehicle is sold "As is/Where is" (Detroit Michigan Area) Buyer responsible for pick up/shipping. I can assist in loading if needed.
