For Auction is a 1976 Vega Cosworth with remarkable standard features including a 4-cylinder 2.0 liter 16 valve Cosworth Twin overhead cam engine, electronic fuel injection, stainless steel header, 5 speed manual transmission, 4.10 posi-traction rear differential, front disc brakes with front and rear stabilizer bars. Its performance and handling are respectable with these factory features along with four new 205/60-13 tires on the gold painted original aluminum alloy 8 spoke 6" wheels. It will need a driver upper control arm bushing before too many more miles. With 89,000 miles, it uses some oil, there is some oil wetness at gasket between head and cam carrier, it is missing the cover for the cam sprockets. This CV is running with new spark plugs and wires, emission PAIR tubes. It has a new high pressure fuel pump. It is a matching number motor and has current CA tags, smog certificate, new exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter to the chrome tip. The dash bezel still shows the engine turn finish, but is worn to silver, the clock does not work. The tachometer registers but is not in calibration. It has the custom original interior (tear on the drivers seat), the carpeting in the front and rear is very good, better than the faded section under the hatch. There is a medium tint on all the windows, including flip out rear ones (driver side has loose clip). The body and paint have nicks, blemishes and some peeling, although a very shiny black with all of the gold Cosworth striping, it will eventually need repair in several spots, including; the roof, hood, hatchback, and driver fender. The glass is good, the locks are matched with key, the lights, turn signals, flashers and buzzers work. This complete Cosworth Twin Cam is an eye catcher today and could be freshened up to showroom condition.
