1964 Corvette 327/365 It's really tearing me up apart that i'm selling this car I have had for the past 20 years but it has become painfully obvious that I'm never going to get her back together. So I'm going to try to be as detailed as I car about the Vette I know almost very thing there to know about her as I am the 2 owner. She started life as 1 of 20 j56 optioned 1 of only 6 convertibles "aka zo6" it was called J56 in 64. About 4 years ago I decided to do a nut and bolt frame off restoration on the car so i took her to a Corvette place very well known for doing high end restorations but they where very very expensive. So shortly after getting their she was completely taken apart body taken off the frame them the frame taken completely apart the motor,transmission, suspension , brakes, wiring, etc where taken off and sent to be rebuild,restored or bought new depending what part it was and how important it was to keep the car as original as possible since the car was never been taken apart or restored before, it was as it was from the dealer. About 6 months past and the restoration was going amazing in till the economy tanked so the shop owner decided to strip about 10 cars and sell the parts then split my car being one of them. This scum bag even sold one poor guy whole car. THE GOOD The body was stripped down to the glass and any flaws where addressed then it was primed and shoot in the most amazing sebring silver paint "Was factory red but I was never selling the car and always wanted a silver one". There was not a flaw in the paint but I have not been taking care of the car and it may need to be looked at again. Frame is perfectly restored as is all the Suspension, Steering ,Brakes, Wiring,gas lines, brake lines, everything under the car is there and all new. Rolls, steers and stops perfect. Engine Bay has been restored to factory as well as the gas clutch and brake peddles all are there and work the z gate is there as well. THE BAD When I got the car back from the shop in was stripped all the Suspension, Steering ,Brakes where gone so I had the car taken the yet another Corvette place to make it a rolling car with the intention to complete the restoration but upon inspection and a whole lot of research we found out that the car was build from the factory with upgraded (F40) Suspension, (J56) Special Sintered Metallic Brake Package, so if we could find the parts to put it back to the way it was, not saying we could have, but if we did find the parts it would cost many many thousands of dollars just for the brake setup alone. So I had no real choice but to put just stock Corvette Drum brakes on the car. Some of the larger parts that have gone missing 4 Speed transmission Windshield Front and rear bumpers Dash humps Seat frames Top frame Gas tank Parts I have Numbers matching original factory 327/365 Motor Completely rebuild ready to drop in, but it is missing the aluminum intake and holly carb. Motor is included in the sale but buyer has to make arrangements with the engine builder to pick it up. I will help as much as I can. Headlight buckets and motors Instrument cluster Front grill Center console Steering column/ steering wheel Door window glass and regulators Door glass chrome Bumper brackets Red interior kit Lots of small parts in boxes Please understand THIS IS A FAILED PROJECT and the buyer will have to buy more parts to finish the project But The car can be put back together pretty easily. But i'm just to disheartened to even try anymore she has been sitting in the garage for to many years and as long as I own it she will never move I have come to understand this so I feel it is better to let her just move on and I truly hope go to someone who will complete the vision I seen and get her back on the road where she belongs so happy bidding, if I was unclear or chattered on in the ad I'm very sorry but this is a bit emotional for me.
