Vehicle Detail

Hello, Thanks for taking the time to look at my beautifully restored 1982 Honda CB900C. Let me start out by saying that this is one of a few CB900C that I have restored. This is one neat bike with an interesting history. This 900cc bike is shaft drive and includes two separate final drive ratios that allow you to have a perfect gear ratio for any situation. They are super reliable bikes and will provide years of service to you. I have driven and own several of these bikes and I take Months and hundreds of hours to create the bike you see here. The first step to this bike was the engine. I went through the engine after compression testing and verifying that the engine was high in compression and in good order. The valves are set spec to assure the tuning is correct. I then replaced all the gaskets with new ones to assure the engine not to leak. The carburetors were completely disassembled, boiled, and completely cleaned. After cleaning they were then rebuilt with new gaskets, and the parts needed were replaced. All the ignition parts were tested and inspected. New plug wires and NGK insulated boots were installed as well as new plugs. All of the Charging system was also inspected. The charging rotor tested 4.5 OHMS and is in good order as well as the stator, and rectifier. The battery was replaced as well. The engine starts and runs perfect with no issues. It is smooth and quiet and makes a ton of power. The exhaust system is perfect. There is no rust on it and it looks as new as I could get it. No exhaust leaks at all. The transmission is also smooth and shifts perfect. I replaced the clutch to make sure that it is also ready for years of service. After I got the engine and the drivetrain on this bike is tip top condition I then started the restoration. The whole bike was disassembled right down to the frame. Grease and oil from years of service were cleaned and the engine and such were painted. Everything on the bike was painted in the frame or Powder coated with high quality Eastwood finishes. The air box boots were replaced as well as the carburetor insulators to assure a leak proof carburation system. The carburetors were then powder coated, installed and a full sync was performed assuring a smooth idle and excellent throttle control. All of the suspension is also new. The front forks were disassembled and new seals were installed as well as new fork oil. The fork bodies were then powder coated and reassembled. The fork slides are in great shape with no pitting so you can be assured they will not start leaking prematurely. The rear shocks are brand new Burley brand 10.5 inch shocks. The bike sits about 2.5 inches lower that factory and has a comfortable ride. The forks were lowered in the trees about 2.5 inches and the frame sits straight and even. The handling is excellent and very stable at high speeds. I haven’t scrapped anything as far as curbs and such. It’s not too low but provides an easy to live with ride height that most people that sit on appreciate. It is a very easy bike to ride and sit on. All of the brakes were rebuilt and powder coated. New pads on all brakes and all the hydraulics are leak free. The master cylinder in the rear was rebuilt with new parts and the front Master cylinder is a newer more modern looking unit from a CBR600RR. The handlebars are a YZ style bar and provides a comfortable sitting position with a very easy shift to a forward leaning position if needed. I generally put my feet on the rear pegs and lean forward on the highway much like a Café racer. All of the hand controls and cables are restored as well as new grips. I replaced the tires and also reconditioned the wheels and all the rotors as well. The body parts on this bike are beautiful. I painted them with House of Kolor Kandy Tangerine candy paint. There are over 10 coats of paint on the pieces. The paint is probably as nice as you can get. It is glass smooth and the candy paint is absolutely show quality, (as well as the rest of the bike). This is very expensive paint and it is an acrylic so it will be durable and last for years. I conditioned the inside of the tank with Causwell epoxy sealing coating to provide protection from rust on the inside of the tank. The seat was created by using the Stock seat pan. I removed the bulk from the pan and foam and covered it with a very durable high quality vinyl with French stitching and body colored thread for a very modern and racy appearance. It is comfortable and provides a lot of freedom of movement while you ride. The final details include: LED lighting accenting under the tank, in front of the frame and the rear of the bike including the license plate light. HID Zenon HI/LO headlight, and LED tail, stop, and trick little 10mm LED built into the rear of the frame for turn signals. In conclusion, I put months and months of love and money into these bikes. I build each one carefully and try not to leave any details untouched. This bike is not a quickie type of garage restoration that looks like crap when you see it up close. This bike looks better that it did when brand new, and is a high quality show piece if you want to show it in bike shows. I have people take pictures of it and ask me about it everywhere I go. It is unique and different, and I just love it. I have put about 3000 miles on it since I finished it to make sure there are no hiccups. Bid with confidence as this bike will be a bike that nobody has, is truly unique to anything else, super reliable, and is a true classic! I look at bike all the time here on EBAY and have yet to find ANY CB motorcycle that was restored with this much detail with this quality. I hope you love as much as I do.
