1959 Chevrolet ImpalaV8 SPORT COUPE ~ 2 DOOR HARDTOP A TRUE "BARN FIND" INSIDE DRY COLORADO STORAGE FOR 33+ YEARS 1959 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe 2 Door Hardtop V8 Automatic Barn Find! Hello, what your looking at here is a True Rare “Barn Find” 1959 Impala Sport Coupe 2 Door Hardtop! This Chevrolet along with many other Classic Cars & Trucks, has been sitting in the dry storage barn since 1979 and this Impala has had only two known owners from new. This '59 comes from a very private collection that is not open to the public in any way. The gentleman that has collected these cars started back with his father passing down the love of cars way way back in the 30's, 40's & 50's. These are the pride and joy of this man's life time of work. (Hold on, a 1958 Impala & 1960 Impala 2 Door Hardtops are coming up next!) This ‘59 has been family owned since the early sixties and has been in Colorado ever since. This '59 Impala is a overall very solid survivor! This Lower Mileage 40,260 now currently showing Impala, (no docs but old original oil change tags dating mileage back @ 39,500 in 3-79? turned over...? but pedals and speedo look too clean for a 140,000 car, plus time sitting in storage, so you be the judge on this?), This Impala has some very nice Rarer Factory Options also, such as:Power Front six way Bench SeatPower Steering Power Brakes Padded Dash Dash Clock AM Radio with the Extra Rear Speaker Option This Impala has had one repaint in 1965 in the Original Snowcrest White paint. The car has all original parts, components and has had one engine transplant into the 62-63-64’ 327 V8 currently installed, Pad Code F0829S . NOTE: We have a original 1959 Chevrolet 283 V8 Engine set aside, (was running when removed) if wanted at a extra charge. The car has sat for 33+ years, so it is a great restoration canadate classic. You cannot find them like this any more! This is truly a classic waiting for a frame off high dollar restoration to make it a top show winner for the pure Chevrolet Collector. Everything is there! and ready to disassemble with ease as the nut and bolts are not rusted out, or frozen-up, like so many that are out there, if any at all. As you know if you have been looking for a 1959 Impala, the '59 Impalas are on a rapid increase in value over the last several years as everyone knows, but are very hard to find in unrestored original condition. I will now go over the car with a honest evaluation and let you know the great, good, and worst areas of the overall current condition.Numbers for the Vin and Trim Tag:VIN: F59K 141258 TRIM TAG: Style: 59-1837 Body: KC 4848 Trim: 852 Paint: 936 A B ACC: 1A 3D 6A First the Overall Drivetrain. Sitting since 1979 and last fired then. The car has now had plugs changed, cylinders lubed with miracle oil, belts, hoses, inspected for rot and replaced if needed. Gas tank is in great shape, but disconnected at the time to run a under-hood temporary gas-can for running for loading. Tranny engages, engine runs, starts, but no guarantees, due to age and no road testing time. Brakes bled, but will need inspected for road worthiness, ok for loading stopping now and with Emergency-Brake. The car sits on newer radial tires and has the correct 1959 Chevrolet GM rims with the correct nib tabs for the larger full size hub caps. The Overall Main Body Condition: The body is very solid where it is critical and where it needs to be solid! The main Floors and braces are in great original shape, rust free in most all areas! There might be a few hidden small spots, but overall, 90% solid as a rock! Hard to find on any Impala today. Thousands of dollars saved in this area of restoration alone! The trunk is solid overall, but does have a few small areas that will need repaired if doing a frame off, or making a show car. The trunk for a current driver is just fine as is! The lower tire well is good with only some pinholes showing at this time. The other inside trunk area is right at the license plate lower gas filler neck area. Not bad for the overall huge area of the trunk. The main and upper wheel houses are very nice, no seam rust! The main body mounts in trunk are rust free also! The overall body is solid and the rockers are very good with only a few spots that were addressed way back. Front fenders would be the other area of concern, the lower / outer curved side headlight area (very common) has been leaded and bondoed in a 8" or so area. Also the drivers side inner headlight shell next to grill has a spot. The lower bottom front fenders wheel splash-up area is very good, drivers side a dime size spot was repaired. The rear wheel well lips are very good with two or three spots touched up in the repaint. One note, as for any body damage, the only area that has had a inspected known repair, looks like the driver’s rear outer tail light curve and the outer bumper end, these were repaired in a small fender bender that was not a frame concern, or rear splash pan concern. Just some bondo in that local area, but would be considered a small damage repair just be accurate. The doors are rust free with only slight top at vent area - seam surface area, the hood is rust free even nose area, the trunk lid is rust free with slight inch or two of a seam spead that has been primed on the drivers side outer seam, upper rockers super solid, rocker cover inside plates are still in beautiful primer brown factory paint with no rot at all. Main X Frame overall is great, no rust or rot anywhere just slight surface dirt, normal! The front end area looks good also with no bottom outs or A-Arm dent damage. Great undercarriage overall!Overall Interior Condition:The Interior is all original factory as delivered. The original seats are in great shape for restoration, as the foam and padding are very supportive still and springs are all stong with no sags. The seat conditions would save you alot, as they will only need a recover and no expensive rebuilding! Just a drivers side seat lower spot area for small foam rebuild-up is needed. Door panels are good and the rear side panels are also very good Factory originals. Could be ok for a driver with lower drivers door the worst material area showing. The Headliner is all orginal and the visors with no rips only outerseam on visor. Carpet is original in the rear (salt & pepper) and newer front half now showing drivers side very worn. The carpet under tar padding & felting is all the original. The padded dash is original with 3 main cracks showing. The overall dash is nice and all original with great stainless trim and chrome. Glove box is good also. Door side trim is great and side trim on headliner is also in great shape. This also is a high dollar area that is not needing restoration! Note: Trunk floor has the original matting with original side cardboard still there and rear seat cardboard still there. Spare is there with original jack and base.Stainless & Chrome:The stainless and chrome are in very good shape. The satinless trim has some dings and scratches but all can be restored to show condition with nothing missing. The chrome is driver quality original and the pot metal in in great shape with no pitting and the window frames and vent window frames are excellent! These also are a high dollar items to rechrome when needed. The grill is straight and headlight surrounds are also nice as are the rear tail light bezels. All very good driver quality that can be made show restored.Glass & Weather Seals Rubber:The Glass is EZ-Eye and original, cept for the front door side windows, no codes, all the rest, rear sides, front windshield, rear window, & vents, are all original glass in very good shape. Note: One bee-bee mark on rear drivers side glass and two on the front windshield. The seals are in good shape noting no leaks, the weather door seals and trunk are good also. All driver quality originals.Overall a Great Original Factory unrestored 1959 Chevrolet V8 Impala waiting to get back on the road again and be the Great Investment Classic to win some shows and have alot of fun and thumbs up looks while doing it! On Nov-25-12 at 08:55:35 PST, seller added the following information: Hello have had many questions on the paint. The first photos are of the car wet to show the body is straight and the possible shine if completly buffed out. The paint that was reprayed in the mid sixties is showing major age and wear. Spots of peeled paint and larger surface scratches, or old body work areas showing age, have been touched up with white satin primer, to preserve the car from any further weathering or deterioration. The car as-is would take a nice quick repiant for a daily driver, or weekend show car, but this is a candidate for a frame off restoration in my opinion, as there are not many this untouched and solid condition to have such a great foundation for that type car. Hope this helps! Questions on the the driving condition, as stated this is not a driver yet, would need to be gone through to road test and safety check for the open road. Starts runs to load only, consider this a non running car in bidding. It would not take much to get it up and running for the road.
