Vehicle Detail
UP FOR AUCTION, is this wonderful TRIUMPH TR6 in British Racing Green and British Tan interior. This is not just another TR6. A huge amount of money and time has been invested in making it in one of the best driver's cars. Wonder how its like? Well, from the first moment that you lay eyes on it you become excited, the car sits low to the ground, and its huge Triumph wheels, fill the enormous wheel well entirely. The glossy green paint makes you marvel at the beautiful lines. The stunning British Tan interior, with all the wood and instrumentation, beckons you to jump in and feel the magnificent Moto lita steering wheel in your hands; a tactile symphony of wood and steel, YOU HAVE GOT TO HEAR WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE. Well you will not be disappointed . The instant a plug fires at the turn of the key, the throaty roar of the straight 6 coming through the Dual Stainless steel ANSA exhausts, instantly makes the hair in the back of your head stand up. If you got out now and went home you'd still be happy, but wait!! You'd miss the best part. Getting going on the road is not a clunky chore, or an "experts only" affair. The clutch is soft and precise, the transmision engages each gear with authority. The motor is quiet. It better be after all that careful machining work. The Four throats of the open downdraft Weber Carburetors rhythmically remind you theres a thumping motor by your feet. The ANSA exhaust is where the you completely forget all your troubles. Throaty and somewhat loud without ever being annoying. A perfect combination of compression and throatiness that you expect a Man's car like this to sound like. On the open road, the interior feels like your favourite cashmere blazer. This is as good as it gets for a motor head's nirvana, and you didn't have to spend a million dollars, which possibly explains the big smirk on your face. There are a LOT of TR6s for sale out there. Why do you want this one? Simply said, the investment in new, rebuilt and performance parts as well as the expense to have it all professionally installed would buy 3 lesser TR6s. The motor was just rebuilt professionaly and blueprinted. The crank was overhauled, rods were replaced, engine bearings, gaskets, rings and pins, as well as an overhaul of the cylinder head. A new clutch was installed with new pressure plate. This work cost $8,500 and it was money well spent. The transmission is was overhauled a few years back as was the locking diff. The paint on the car is mostly original and has a few nicks and chips but no dents at all. The car is not rusted anywhere nor has it ever been. The interior is all new except for the seats that are as nice as they come for original seats. Overall the car shows Very well, and needs nothing. Everything works as it should. Here is a list of parts that were recently put on the car: Moto lita Steering wheel $500 Shift knob TR $40 New interior panels $750 Retractable 3 point seat belts $250 Matching Boot cover $175 Soft Top and installation $555 Master Brake Cylinder with Correct reservoir, lines, rebuild calipers, pads, bearings, and discks. $965 Optima battery (Red Top) $225 Weber Carburetor Conversion $4800 Spin-on-oil filter conversion $75 Flame thrower coil and Electronic Ignition conversion $245 Wipper motor $? GM alternator Conversion $175 Stainless luggage rack $279 Cornell tires $450 Wheel trim rings $100 Four new shock (Rear suspension converted to telescopic shock absorbers) $480 Big sway bar conversion with polu mounts and bushings on new links $525 New fuel sending unit $65 Stainless brake lines conversion $245 Four Lowering springs new $380 Full carpet set $590 Lucas Fog lights $400 That is the big stuff, The list goes on and on. . . . . This is a fantastic car. I love it. I love looking at it, and love driving it. Our boat currently needs to be overhauled so the TR6 must go to a new home, hopefuly one that loves it as much as we do.
