Vehicle Detail
1971 Monte Carlo in pretty much unmolested original condition. Has a 350-2 barrel engine, A/T, power steering and brakes. Weathered and rusted original rosewood metallic paint and decent buff vinyl interior. The odometer shows 66,072 miles and believed to be correct. Always a local Western New York car. First owned by an elderly lady from 1971 until 1998. I bought the car in 2000 as the third owner and drove it a few hundred miles a summer until 2006 and then did not renew the license. The shocks, coil springs, and tires were replaced in 2000. The tires have started to age crack and are not roadworthy. Although everything should be checked over before putting it back on the road, the engine starts easily, is quiet, and runs responsively after warm up. The brakes, transmission, and steering also seem to work as they should. I’ve attempted to show an honest physical condition of the car with the pictures. As you can see the body will need paint and patch panels in the rear quarters, left front fender, various trunk areas, and two small areas on the frame. The floor seems solid with the exception of two 1½” x 5” holes by the front seat. The door bottoms and rocker panels also seem solid. The doors open and close easily with no sagging. Please contact me for any additional pictures you may need. The interior is pretty much decent and all there with the exception of the radio and light switch knob. The rear seat is original vinyl from another 71 Monte Carlo, same trim code but slightly different color for some unknown reason. Front seat has been reupholstered in vinyl rather than the original cloth. The headliner has some mouse holes near the visors. Carpets would benefit from a vacuum and shampoo. All and all, a great opportunity to own a classic car at a low price, seeming to mainly need body and paint work. The reserve is low. What is seen in the pictures is all that I have for the car. It is being sold "as is" with no guarantee. I have a transferable NYS Regristration in my name and will also provide a bill of sale (New york does not issue titles for cars built before 1973). A non-refundable $300.00 deposit is to be paid using PayPal within 24 hours after winning bid is received. The balance is due by cash or bank draft with 7 days. Shipping will be your responsibility but I will help in loading if necessary. If you have less than 5 feedbacks please contact me before bidding or your bid will be cancelled. Thank you and happy bidding. On Nov-23-12 at 09:38:11 PST, seller added the following information: 11/23/12: Six addition pictures added for your review
