1965 Ford Econoline Pickup Former US Air Force Specifications for a 1965 Ford Econoline Truck The Econoline, also known as the E100, was a light-duty pickup truck from the Ford Motor Company. Introduced in 1961 along with the van and station bus, the truck offered a flat-nosed design with the engine located behind the seats of the cab. The truck remained relatively unchanged from its introduction and was discontinued in 1967 . EngineThe 1965 Ford Econoline included a 170-cubic-inch six-cylinder engine with a 3.50-inch bore, a 2.94-inch stroke and a forged-steel crankshaft. It also offered a standard three-speed manual transmission with a gear ratio of 4.11:1 and a Ford 1-V single-barrel carburetor. An optional automatic transmission was also available.ChassisThe 1965 Ford Econoline truck included a cab-over design with a unibody frame from the Ford Falcon platform. To compensate for the uneven balance in the front of the vehicle, Ford installed a 165-lb.weight over the rear wheels. Other factory specifications included I-beam straight axles and spindles, single-anchor internal expanding, and self-adjusting brakes.Dimensions and CapacitiesThe 1965 Ford Econoline Truck weighed 2,415 lbs., and had a 90-inch wheelbase and an overall length of 168.4 inches. It also included a bed that was 7.5 feet in length. I have owned this truck for almost ten years with the intention of restoring it at retirement.But my employer of over 30 years decided to layoff our entire department without warning. Think your union can protect you guess again.... I digress. The truck runs but needs a carb rebuild and the clutch is slipping. This is not a rust bucket by any means just surface area stuff except in the cab on the floor just infront of the engine cowling minor rust thruthe sunroof leaks and water got under the floor mats EZ fix. See Photo. The pickup is tagged and insured in California. I have never used it in all these years other than to drive around the block ever couple of weeks.If you want a super low priced truck to fix up the way you want it, this is it. Check the prices these are selling for restored. Mileage is unknown has no odometer. Ask questions before you bid... Selling As-Is being nearly a 48 year old truck.
