Vehicle Detail

1954 Chevy Truck THIS IS NOT SOME JUNK RAT ROD THAT WAS BUILT BY A GOOFBALL IN HIS DIRT DRIVEWAY!This pickup was made to look old but has been completely redone so it can be used as a daily driver. I wanted the truck to look like it was an old, abandoned, 50's custom that was found sun baked and just drug out of the desert. The truck has many mods and custom work done to it. The cab has new dog legs, rockers, cab corners, floors and trans tunnel welded in. All the emblems where shaved, the hood was nosed, peaked and louvered. The headlights are frenched and use 1954 Merc headlight bezels. The cab also sports a windshield visor. Any place there was body work was then fogged with paint and other things to give it an old look and match the rest of the age, patina of the truck. The body is channeled over a Dodge Dakota frame. It is a static drop. NO AIR BAGS OR JUNK TO FAIL WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING IT! The rear end was moved back 5" to line the wheelbase up and then up 3" to lower it. The frame is not C-notched so you still have complete use of the bed to haul things. You can hit pot holes, bumps, railroad track or what have you and it never slams the rear end into the frame. It's done right! The engine is a stock 1994 305. It has an aluminum intake and 600 CFM carb. It gets great gas mileage! Daul exhaust with quite mufflers run past therear end. 20 gal aluminum gas tank with sender. New aluminum radiator. Itnever over heats! Overdrive transmission. 700R Automatic and the rear end is a Chevy S10 rear with 410. posi. The low first gear of the 700R with 410 gears will really make this thing move red light to red light and with the overdrive you can still cruise all day long at 70+ MPH and never put a strain on it. Best of both worlds. Good gas mileage, quick and still able to run over 100 MPH if you want. Ending the drivetrain is a set of 16" Centerline Billet mags with almost new tires on them. The inside is nothing fancy. No carpet just a comfortable bench seat. The metal panels on the inside, dash, doors, etc have been primers and painted. It looks good. The heater box was completely restored and mounted but is not hooked up yet. There is no weather stripping around the doors. It has power brakes and stops on a dime! It has a Dodge Dakota manual rack and pinion for steering but it's easy to drive. My wife drives this truck all the time and she's a petite, 5'5 woman. Very bright headlights for night driving and the tail lights are LED's and are hidden under the tailgate. They have shadow spray over them so you don't even see the lights until they are turned on or you hit the brakes. New shaded windshield and seal. Back glass and seal are new. new cowl vent seal. Side windows still need replaced. This truck is DRIVEN DAILY! It's not perfect and was never meant to be. It has some rust and needs a few small things but all the hard work is done. Finish it and make a super slick street rod out of it or drive it the way it is. I have had it in 3 states and have racked up many, many miles on it. There are a few things that could be done to make it nicer, like a radio or ? but we can't stay out of it long enough to put it back in the garage. I built this truck for myself. I wasn't going to sell it but I'm not working, have bills, a big family and Christmas is coming up. Same as 97% of everyone else. So the other 3% here's your chance to get one cool truck. I live in Newport, Ky the truck would have to be picked up here. I encourage anyone who is interested in this truck to come and look at it and drive it before auction closes. Clear Kentucky title in my name. It will be notarized and ready to be transferred when you come to get the truck. I need $500.00 dollar deposit in the form of a U.S. Postal Money Order within 10 days of the close of action. Final price is in CASH. NO CHECK! I can store the truck for up to 2 months as long as it is paid in full! If you want to ask me anything else about the truck you can call me at 513-442-2825. Shipping may be possible for a fee depending on where you are at. For a short video of the build go to YouTube and search for: Scroungers Car Club 1954 Chevy Truck On Nov-15-12 at 08:43:46 PST, seller added the following information: My email is Scroungers_CC@Yahoo.com if you want to ask me anything about the truck or set up a time to come and take a look at it. On Nov-16-12 at 09:55:05 PST, seller added the following information: More recent pictures have been added. Scroll all the way down. The pictures with the river in the back ground were taken today. Windshield visor and side boards come with the truck. A lot of emails asking about it. Sorry for the confusion. Just didn't have too many recent pics of the pickup. On Nov-16-12 at 10:02:57 PST, seller added the following information: Reserve is almost there. On Nov-17-12 at 16:01:30 PST, seller added the following information: THE RESERVE HAS BEEN MET! SHE WILL HAVE A NEW OWNER NOW. WILL IT BE YOU? BID HIGH AND DON'T LET THIS ONE GET AWAY FROM YOU!On Nov-18-12 at 13:44:09 PST, seller added the following information: I have been ask many times if the truck with make it to FL, CA and even Canada. I think the truck will go anywhere you want to drive it. It doesn't have a spare. If you run over something in the road and blow the tire you will need a spare and a jack. If you are going north in the cold it doesn't have the heater hooked up. Other than that it's good to go where ever. If you drive it home you will have to have it insured. My insurance will not cover you if you wreck it or someone else hits you. People tell me all the time that they are covered through their insurance company on anything they drive. That's not the case. In Kentucky and many other states if you wreck or get hit whoever's name the car/truck is in, is on the line to pay the bill. If the car/truck title is still in my name the state looks at it as I am the legal owner and I am liable. Even if it is notarized. So your insurance company won't pay for my car/truck and mine won't pay for my car/truck if someone other than myself is driving it. I go through Hagerty Insurance Company, you can call and verify this. So if you trailer it you are fine but if you drive it home you need to have insurance on it. I don't want to get in any trouble. On Nov-21-12 at 18:50:38 PST, seller added the following information: People with less than a rating of 10 need to call me first or their bid may be canceled. Hope you understand. 513-442-2825 Steve By the way Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
