Vehicle Detail
My wife and I had a 145S when we were in college. We've been out 25 years now, 1987 was our graduating year. So, I thought I'd take a trip down memory lane and surprise her with another 145S. After all, we were discussing our old green wagon and how much fun we had in it. Well, imagine my surprise when I bought this wagon to surprise her. She of course drives a convertible Mercedes. She took one look at it, one look at me and gave me the "evil" finger. Well, that's what I get for trying to relive our glory days. So now, I am faced with this Volvo sitting in my garage. She didn't give me the Volvo or me look but it was close enough. So I am passing it onto some other Volvo loving family. It has been stored for the past years. How many, I could not say but at least five according to the previous owner's brother. The motor was rebuilt 30,000 miles ago. There is a stack of receipts and a Volvo shop manual. It looks like it has been loved. The interior is nice, the motor compartment is clean too and the courtesy light in the engine compartment still works!!! It rides on four matching tires. There are many accessories for this Volvo, ski racks, board racks and snow chains. It is ready to go!!! And I will too if I don't get rid of it. The white paint still shines nicely, the blue interior is free of rips or tears. There are two small tears on the interior inner fender hump(see video). It does have some surface rust on the lower windshield molding and right quarter panel at the bottom(see video and photo). The dash is not cracked. There is aftermarktet air conditioning. May need to be converted or recharged, I did not get that far with it yet. The brakes may need to be addressed. Kind of tight from sitting. The headliner is nice and not sagging. The rear hatch stays up without support. The glass is all nice. Front windshield does have some minor stone chips but is not cracked. Factory luggage rack on top. It is just a nice survivor that has been cared for. If you are into vintage Volvo's and a wagon is your wish, then this is the one for you. Not many out there for sale. This have been a California car it's entire life. Still have the original series blue California plates on it. Drives nice and I had it out the other day. Felt like I was back in college again and didn't have a care in the world. Selling for NO RESERVE!! Final bid gets to that it home.
