I am selling an extremely nice '89 Volvo 240 wagon with 3rd seat, cargo cover and a tow hitch I just recently installed that I've not use yet, ideally to load my bicycles but I haven't bought the bike rack I want. This vehicle has a very low mileage of 139,764. I got this Volvo a little over a year ago, I purchased it from the daughter of the first owner, car was located in Santa Barbara, CA. The car had 123,105 miles when I bought it. The previous owner did not drive the vehicle between 2001 to 2011 due to old age and later diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease. The owner's daughter from Florida would come visit and stay once a year to care for him and that's the only time the car was driven. I've put many miles on this vehicle since I got it, driving it anywhere and anytime without any troubles. I put couple of suspension upgrades, IPD front and rear sway bars and IPD sport springs on all four. This wagon handles so well in corners/turns, you will not feel thrown out of your seat or feel like the car will roll over. The BEST upgrade to any volvo 240s! Besides IPD upgrade, everything else is ORIGINAL and STOCK!!! The original radio and tape player is still intact and works but once in a while there will be static and the tape player will eat your cassettes, hahaha. Well, I sucked it up, I didn't change the radio/tape player even though I have a cd player to replace it because I like the original radio looks. The interior is very clean, no cracks on the dash board, pocket maps has no cracks, seats are all in excellent condition except for a couple of cracks on the leather but NOT torn/ripped open on driver seat. Carpet is very clean, no rips or holes. Smoke free vehicle!!! It was a huge plus when I found out that the previous owner didn't smoke, the daughter didn't smoke too! I don't smoke, so there you have it, smoke free vehicle! the ashtray is so clean inside, not a sign of ash or cigarette burn in it or anywhere in the interior. All Volvo Mats are in perfect condition. Some Engine Maintenance was done about six months ago, my mechanic said this is the cleanest and best condition 240 he has seen in a very long time. No leaks, engine and transmission runs strong! Air Condition system and heater system are all original and works well, recent recharge on AC was done. Brakes and tires are good. Power window and power lock works. I have all the receipts for what was done to this wagon since I've owned it. I've waited for almost a year for a low mileage, clean volvo wagon like this one and I am a bit hesitant to sell this. Besides a family car, I also need a motorcycle hauler... so I recently purchased a Chevy Colorado 4dr truck to take care of both. The pictures are pretty accurate, sorry about the lighting, it did affect some of the pictures. This car is almost 25 years old, a couple of very minor dings/dents on it please see pics, but NO ACCIDENTS. I have CarFax available for review. I am confident to drive this volvo cross country any day. I'll call eBay tomorrow to see what i'm not doing right, customer service line is now closed. I received many emails about what engine maintenance were done when it was last serviced. The following parts were replaced; All belts, front strut assemblies and ball joints, outer and inner tie rods, bushings, wiper blade and oil change. The alignment was slightly off and I got that straighten. None of these needed urgent attention but I got them done because of my new-long-commute to and from work of 2 hours round trip. I told my mechanic to change things he thinks will need attention soon. Which cost $1131. Now I don't worry about my drive to work or anywhere. I'd like to point out some things about this vehicle that matters a lot. My Volvo 240 is a California Car, no rust, original paint, low mileage, never been in an accident, 2 owner car proven by CarFax and AutoCheck. No modifications on transmission and engine so its less maintenance. The truth is... you make modifications on your engine = more problems you'll get and the faster your engine will break.
