The last buyer contacted me within hours before the end of the auction and decided that he would have problems with shipping, then asked to cancel his bid with less than an hour to go. You can not do this! If you are the high bidder you must pick this up within 7 days! Do not waste my time! This is a VW Dune Buggy which is an EMPI Sportster. It is all steel and was built from plans in Popular Mechanics in the 60s. It was registered as a 1968 and has a good CT VIN #. Just go to DMV and put plates on it. I have two motors that will go with this, the original that is seized, but has all of the bolt ons that yu will need, and another motor that spins freely and has dual carb manifolds on it, just take these two and make one! This will need to be re-assembled. I took it all apart and did most of the repair work on it. I have almost everything to put this car back together. There is a new custom cut windshield. I have all of the old parts taken off and a ton of new or good used ones to put on. I have 3 sets of wheels and tires to choose from for it too. They should be redone anyway as they both have been sitting for quite awhile. The# on the frozen one just has a 7021241 stamped in it, it appears to have been redone at some point as there is no VW stamped on it. As for the one that spins freely it has a VW and then an F-029257 stamped on it. The suspension has old air socks in the back but otherwise looks original. The breakers need to be completely gone through, but the emergency brake does work. The front timings are stock 15x4s and the reared are 15x10 and are custom Chevy rallyes with adapters. The other white wheels that are in the picture are standards wide5 wheels from a Baja. The offsets on those are different front to rear but I am unsure what they are.
