Vehicle Detail
First, since I don't have many pictures, here's a video on youtube. (do excuse the typo on the intro. This is a 50, not a 54) Check it out here! You will not find a truck like this anywhere. A couple years ago I picked up this truck as a solid barn find. From there we stripped it down, boxed most of the frame, did a custom fabricated Mustang II frontend and 4-link rear from Scott's Hotrod N Customs out in California, installed a complete Painless wiring system, installed disk front brakes, under cab power booster / master cylinder (also from Scott's), and a chevy 10 bolt rear (one wheel wonder with highway gears) end with new brake hardware. So that took care of the safety and reliability things. Then we dropped in a 402 big block from a 72 (or was it 70? I forget) Camero that has about 70k miles, and added coated headers, wieand intake, edelbrock chrome and carb and an Accel distributor. Oh, and did I mention air-ride? There are two compressors (so fill time is faster), a single tank, 8 valves (allowing for front/back/side/side) and a switch box in the cab. When parked, it sits about 1" off the ground. But then when you want to get up and go, it raises about 5-6 inches for care free driving. I've driven this from DSM to Kansas City numerous times, and would not hesitate to jump in and drive it across the country if I had the time. The seat is a factory seat that has been professionally recovered, and the gauges are new Dolphin gauges (speedo on one side, quad gauge on the other, both are the "vintage" looking gauges), but other than that, the interior is bare. No carpet, no headliner, no door panels, nothing. So it's an open canvas for however you want to finish it. Other than a couple small (as in less than a dime size) rust holes in the running boards, and a single rust hole on the back of the cab, between the bed, this is a very solid truck. As you can see from the pics, it's not painted. Personally, I like it exactly how it is. When I take it to the GoodGuys show, I make a point to park it next to the most expensive. bad-ass Chevelle or Corvette that I can find, then I sit back and watch more people stop by to check it out than the $100k cars parked next to it. So I'd say other people like it too. With that said, if fit and finish is more your style, $7500 or so would take care of all of the body work, paint and interior, and would easily put this in the $30k ballpark. I just don't have the time or desire to do this. Mostly because then I'd want to keep it for myself. Title and license are all up to date. I do have receipts for all of the major materials totaling about $8k, as well as install instructions for the Mustang II and Painless kit, should you need to reference it. As with anything on eBay, shipping is on you. I can work with you on arranging a shipper to pick it up, and I don't see any issues with this being transported on a big carrier, even with it sitting so low. That about sums it up. If you have questions, ask 'em and I'll do my best to answer. A couple things I forgot to mention. It has an aluminum radiator with an electric pusher fan setup, and does not have any over heating issues at all. Highway or city, it's a cool runner. It has a 22 gal fuel cell in the bed. It does not have the sending unit installed, but I have one that should work with the tank that I'll include with the truck. All glass is new with new rubbers. Front and rear glass is installed, but I have not installed the side glass. This will also be included. It has an Ididit tilt column in it. The rack is a power rack, however, the power steering pump is bad and will need replaced. Wiper do not work. I never drive it in the rain, so there's no need. I think that about covers it.On Nov-07-12 at 00:19:56 PST, seller added the following information:I have had a couple people ask for clarification on this: I don't have receipts for everything, and did all of the labor myself. Rough numbers for what has been put into this is about 12k, and that doesn't include any labor since I built this myself. The wheels are also custom made steel wheels because I needed a specific back spacing to tuck into the fenders. The rears are 315's on a 10" wheel, and the fronts are 255's i believe. They are Cooper Cobra tires. The rears are in good shape, but the fronts will need replaced due to driving on a bad alignment for the first year I had it on the road. The alignment as since been fixed. On Nov-07-12 at 00:21:18 PST, seller added the following information:Oh, and the reserve is less than the 12k I have into it.
