Vehicle Detail
I purchased this vehicle in 1970 from PAP'S LINCOLN-MERCURY in Sunnyvale [I think],, Calilfornia for $6,400.00 (?).. The car has spent it's life in the Bay Area and the last 30 years here in Reno, Nv - So it has no rust areas other than some more recent surface rust.. It was stored inside when I was using it, and for all but about the last 8-10 years of non-use.. Years ago it developed a slight wrist pin noise so I stopped driving it until I could get it fixed.. Never did.. Up until recently, it started and ran BUT, people decided they needed the carburator, left door trim panel.. Someone threw a big rock over the fence where it was stored that went thru the windshield.. I purchased another windshield at the time but never put it in AND, I'm not sure where it is, or if it got thrown away by mistake.. The body is pretty straight with only 1 or 2 minor dents, very repairable.. I replaced some mouldings and THE GRILLE assembly NEW when they were almost extinct, so the grille is perfect - never been backed into and any bars broken!! Car was never involved in any accidents to speak of so there was never any panels replaced or frame damage.. PS: I owned a body shop all the time I had this car!!!! Interior is very decent except the drivers' seat, which is dry and coming apart.. Drivers seat bottom leather was replaced years ago and is still good.. Interior is in very decent condtion overall.. Bumpers are great, as are the headlights and turn signals.. All other glass is good.. The top was replaced years ago with OEM material with French (?) seams and all - perfect match!! That was done because rust was forming under the back of that material below the rear window.. So to stop the surface rust, we removed the material, fixed and painted the whole top.. However, over the years that material is coming off back there and rust is trying to start again.. Tires Hold air - wire wheels are all good other than a little rusty on the rims.. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask..
