Vehicle Detail

This is a spectacular example of the car that Car and Driver called the best car Mercedes ever made. I have listed it twice recently, and both times the buyer failed to contact me, without even the courtesy of an explanation or apology. I would like it out of the garage so that I can put other cars in this winter, but please do not bid unless you honestly are interested. This car is in very good to excellent condition but could use some interior restoration. If you are a 6.9 afficionado, come get it. The paint retains a lustre with no noticeable fade, and the body appears to be free of previous accidents or damage. See photos taken along sidelines. It has been maintained in low humidity New Mexico for about eight years and was previously located in California. At 111,000 miles, It has comparatively low mileage for a 34-year-old car. The interior is overall in excellent condition, with the upholstery showing minimal signs of wear except as noted. Leather seats are listed, but a knowledgeable reader has suggested that they are MB Tex (not real leather but more durable); I do not know. They look like leather and appear to be the original upholstery, but I am not a classic car buff and want to be sure the issue is raised by me, not by you. Some cracks are in the dashboard and some tearing on one side of the front armrest. Driver's side dash speaker grille is missing, driver's side rear trim piece needs to be re-attached, 3 automatic windowswitches not currently operating, and brake release lever is missing. Carpet is in fine condition and is covered by Mercedes logo mats, front and rear. Door panels and headliner are in excellent condition, without tears or damage. Sunroof/moonroof operates smoothly. Trunk virtually like new; spare tire present and ready. Chrome wheel-well moldings are included, minus rubber trim. Rims are reportedly not the originals, and I cannot attest to this either way. Drivers manual included. Engine (shots provided) is in excellent condition and runs strong and clean . . . passed emission test easily. Starts instantly. No evidence of oil consumption. New brakes and battery, Transmission shifts smoothly and without hesitation but may have slow leak. Hydraulic system works well and appears to be in good shape. Car runs straight and true, without pulling to either side.
