Vehicle Detail
This listing is for a 2002 Honda Civic Si hatchback with 2.0L i-VTEC and 5-speed manual transmission. I'm going to be up front and say that this car needs some TLC. It's got 245,000 miles on the odometer and it's seen better days. Its oil needs topping up every thousand miles or so (there isn't a leak, so it's burning oil). The tires are worn unevenly after being driven with various suspension issues. As you can see in the pictures, there are patches of rust on the hood and the headlight lenses are fogged over and have condensation inside them. There is a scuff in the paint on the front bumper and a minor dent on the passenger side above the wheel well. The rear window wiper is gone. The power locks don't work, nor does the cruise control. The check engine light is on, but it's for the electrical load detector -- I'd replace it, but I don't seem to have any luck in procuring one of those. We originally thought the CEL would be for the catalytic converter, so we bought one to be installed. Of course, it wasn't, so we still have a catalytic converter that will come with the car if you want it. That said, it still runs perfectly well. Rust on the body itself is minimal, just minor spots above the doors, but none on the rear quarter panels you'd typically see on Hondas. The front suspension issue has been handled and the wheels aligned. As a matter of fact, the front struts, ball joints, tie rod ends, and [I think] the control arms on both sides have been replaced in the last year. And even with the check engine light, if it is cleared prior to emissions testing, the car will pass and has done so every time since we got it in 2006. You can get a primered OE replacement hood for less than $200. Replacement headlights can be found for low prices here on eBay. This can be a cheap and economical mode of transportation or you can fix it up a bit and just have fun with it. It really is fun to drive and it's great on gas. It's been through hell and back, but it's served us well. We recently had a baby, and well, you know how roomy such a small car can be for a new family.
