This Diesel Land Cruiser is one of the earliest BJ70s made with VIN BJ70-0000971. It is in excellent condition with only 68844 original kilometers (42,778 miles) on it. These vehicles are legendary and perform like no others. Near Mint Toyotas like this are getting very hard to find and it won’t be long before they are all modified beyond recognition, beat up, or rusted away. Condition Exterior - The body of this Land Cruiser is extremely straight and still has the original paint. This 70 series does not have the typical wheel well rot and floor rust that many of them have. There is however, a little rust behind both of the rear wheel wells and the back of the passenger side rocker. This rust is localized and is an easy repair. The original owner spray painted a little over the rust to try to prevent it from spreading faster and you can see that in the pics. I would rate the condition of the body of this BJ70 a 9 out of 10. The soft top is original and in very good condition with only one small patch on the top corner. The font bumper is not original and has a dent in the middle of it. Interior – The interior of this vehicle is also in excellent condition. The seats are slightly faded but there is only one small tear that I can find in the factory upholstery. The floor mats are also OEM and in near perfect condition. The front door panels, dash, and other interior components are very good. In the rear of the cargo area, there is some minor damage to the floor mat and rear door panels from cargo sliding around. The only down side to the interior of this vehicle is that the original owner swapped out the steering wheel to an aftermarket one. Mechanical – With only 42,778 miles, this BJ70 still runs and drives like new. The engine compartment and undercarriage are very clean, and there are no major leaks anywhere. It appears that it was meticulously maintained throughout its lifetime. The 3400CC diesel starts up and runs perfectly and there is no smoke. Driving this vehicle is a pleasure and It’s the closest thing I can imagine to traveling back in time to 1985 Japan and driving a new Cruiser right off the dealership lot. Other information The Engine in this Land Cruiser is 3.4l 3B 4 cylinder diesel. It is one of the most bulletproof diesels Toyota ever produced. I’ve heard of these going over a million miles with no overhaul. The transmission is an H55F 5 speed that also has a reputation for extreme durability. This amazing drive train is combined with power steering, power disc brakes, and a vacuum assist clutch to make this little guy very fun to drive. It would make a great hunting vehicle or daily driver. Land Cruisers like this are appreciating in value so it’s also a great investment. This Land Cruiser BJ70 is UNRESTORED and in all original, excellent condition top to bottom.
