We are the Best Deals on Classic Wheels! This is a 1966 Thunderbird Convertible with a Dealer Installed and original Tonneau Cover to give it the Sport Roadster Style and look. This car has incredible lines and will make anyone interested in Thunderbirds proud to own. Please see the extensive pictures. From our research the earlier versions of the Thunderbird Sport Roadster came with the Tonneau Cover installed at the factory along with larger and wider tires. We also understand that Ford did not offer a factory option for this in 1966. What our additional research yielded was that these Tonneau covers were then installed by the Dealer for that same Sport Roadster look and style from earlier years. Either way, this Thunderbird Convertible comes with an original Tonneau Cover and looks terrific with the top down. Leave the Tonneau cover on and go with the Roadster look or take it off revealing almost new and plush back seats for the kids. This car is well preserved but had been sitting for some time before we purchased it. So far we are doing a new exhaust system, watch the video and you will hear that it needs one, and we have been doing some work to make the top operational. Right now the top works manually and, at the customers option, we can complete the work on the top or you can do the work yourself. Overall this car runs well, drives well, shifts well, and stops well. The car starts immediately, does not overheat, and stops smoothly. We are planning to install a new brake booster, the brakes work well but the booster is in need of replacement. There are some minor leaks that come from sitting and this car would benefit greatly from being used on a regular basis, this would allow for the kinks to worked out. We have done this work for many customers and could do this work for you. The interior is in very good condition with no rips, tears, or stretches. It is slightly worn and needs a good deep cleaning, but it is all there. Even the dash and overall switches and mechanical levers feel good in you hands. This car is not perfect but can be a real show car with some elbow grease. The body is also in very good condition. There is minor surface rust on a number of items, but the pans, rockers, all quarter panels, and body panels are in great shape and well preserved. Again, minor elbow grease and you have one very cool and good looking Sport Roadster Styled Thunderbird. The paint in not original, but it is the original color.
