Vehicle Detail
Here is my 1979 K-5 Blazer restoration project. Has a 350 bored .030 over with Jasper turbo 350 trans.I bought this a little over year ago from a guy in virginia. I drove it over 300 miles to get it home, and as you can imagine i noticed the flaws that needed attention. FIRST i will tell a little on previous owners begining stages of restoration.OVER $10K IN PARTS. Restoration started around 2007 ended 2008.Most of his parts were bought NEW through (LMC),which is a co. that sells quality (NOS) & (REPRODUCTION) parts. There is only around 2000 miles on all his new parts. NEW : Engine was bored .030 over, new stock scat crank kit,-included i-beam rods, alloy pistons,,every bearing in block.New cam and bearings.Jasper 350 transmission,FULL dual exhaust with headers.Edelbrock rpm aluminum intake,Holley 600 4 barrel carb, performance aluminum air cleaner set up. 3 core Radiator, Both bumpers, both doors, hood, both (COMPLETE rear quarter panels, tailgate, outer rocker panels, grill, headlights, taillights, headlight bezels, inner front fenders, front floor panels, both mirrors, 35" Pro Comp Mud Terrains (STILL HAVE 90% TREAD LEFT),alloy rims, door seals cap seals, tailgate seals,4" Rough Country Suspention, carpet, chevy steering wheel, door panels, window manual regulators,dash/gauge bezel, Alpine sound system, + many many more . OVER $4000 IN RECEICTS SINCE LAST YEAR. NEW: 2:02 ALUMINUM HEADS 64cc,Magnum 270 Comp Cam kit, roller rockers, high volume oil pump, chrome 100 amp alternator,5" tachometer, aluminum oil pan,MSD streetfire distributor and ignition system, 17"electric fan, motor mounts, fuel pump, water pump, radiator hoses, brake booster with master cylinder, steering box,all ball joints, front universal joints, front brakes, rotors, all bearings from wheel to front differential, new chrome differential covers and lucas gear oil.Tailgate rear window crank and key lock, chevy bowtie emblem(rear tailgate)Professionally 4X4 alignment was done.Windsheild.+ MANY MANY MORE. I bought this with intensions of finishing the restoration, but have decided to move to a different part of the country and this is not going. We will call it ((my loss your gain)). For it being a awsome classic running beast it needs head gaskets and the cam needs broke in.I had it all together running and tried doing the 20 min. cam break in, and it started to get hot after 5 mins.,so i removed the thermostat and it still started to get warm. Then i noticed water seeping out of the head/block mating area.I GUESS I AM NOT THE MECHANIC I THOUGHT I WAS.So i drained the oil. no water in oil. I have put hours and hours of work into this thing. To make this a really nice blazer it needs the new steering pump primed,a paint job,an msd tach adaptor, cam broke in and head gaskets. Comes with 2 caps one black non-sliding windows, one white with sliding windows.New cap seals are on the white cap.All of the lights work excellent and are new. There is absolutely no rust on this body.Over $2000 in engine parts 0 hrs. There is over $15k in parts for under $3600.00 "" My reserve is less than my receits"" ,
