The vehicle for auction is a 1999 Chevrolet Express nine (9) person (1 driver - 8 passengers) van with one -ton chassis. The van was used by a school district as a student activity van and has 77,394 highway miles. The front-end & steering is tight with no slop or wander. Exterior body condition is "good" with no major dents or rust. Interior condition is "fair" with a few small splits in the vinyl upholstery and some tears and holds in the headline (all of which we tried to repair). The interior door panel is missing on the left rear cargo door and the interior door lock release for this door is broken. Mechanically; the automatic transmission was replaced with a rebuilt unit in May 2010 and works well. The 6.5 Liter diesel engine starts and runs and uses no oil, however, it has recently started to stall out while driving due to a failing or failed high pressure fuel pump (as evaluated by our mechanic). Both batteries (under hood & frame mount) were replaced in 2010. New tires (including the spare) only have approximately 13.800 miles on them. A front end alignment was done in August of 2010. The front air conditioning compressor was replaced approximately 12,000 miles ago. Brakes are in good condition. The air conditioning system, and heater both work well. The engine has a 120 volt block heater to aid in cold weather starting. The van comes with a fire extinguisher and frist air kit. Vehicle maintenance records are available and will be given to the successful bidder. The vehicle is being sold without any warranty (implied or otherwise) and in "as-is" condition. Payment is cash or certified check, at time of vehicle pickup.
