Vehicle Detail
Grandma purchased this Lime Gold 1967 Thunderbird new in 1967 and gave car to granddaughter in 2010. Always garage kept in California and well taken care of. All original paint, interior, wheels, motor, etc. Nothing has been modified or changed from original. No cracks in dash or rear shelf. Several small tears in front seats. Rear seats are mint. Headliner in good shape. No rust. Tires like new. Not sure on mileage but best guess is around 50,000. Just had tune up, brake and oil service. Car runs well and needs only to be driven. There are several dents in body but no collision damage. Chrome and glass are in excellent condition. Still has original California license plate. Have clear California title, original owner and service manual and all original papers . Even have original Lime Gold touch up paint the car came with from new. The Registration expires in December 2012. No Reserve! I have more photos to email upon request. For more info or questions call Duane (916) 652-4422. On Oct-18-12 at 13:16:53 PDT, seller added the following information: I was just emailed this information below. I think it is some good information about my car: Duane This is a true special-order car, above and beyond the category of simply being ordered for a specific person. The lack of a color code and the 6-digit DSO number shows this. Lime Gold was not available as a regular production item on 1967 Thunderbirds and Lincolns, which were the only cars built at Wixom, MI, and Wixom was the only place that built these cars. However, Lime Gold, like dozens of other specially-mixed colors could be ordered if the car was a pre-sold unit. The order number of 720825 means order number 0825 for the San Jose, CA ordering district which is code 72 (even today). I maintain the Thunderbird Registry, I document any Thunderbird... another car like yours is Registry Number 3, also a 1967 also in Lime Gold. http://www.tbirdregistry.com/viewdatasheet.aspx?RegistryNumber=3 So you can truthfully state in the eBay offer that this is an actual special order car, by Ford's standards. People commonly think that a car ordered for a certain person is special order but that is not the case unless the car has some special component, typically paint or upholstery. You can get the Marti Production Report from www.martiauto.com They own the rights to Ford's database, I am sure the report will tell you that this Thunderbird is "1 - of - 1". On Oct-18-12 at 14:21:38 PDT, seller added the following information: The car has the original engine and transmission and all matching numbers. It also has factory A/C. I thought it to be too clean to have over 100,000 miles but read the speedometer more carefully and just called and verified with the Granddaughter it has 100,779 miles. I forgot the old cars do not read over 100,000 miles.
