Vehicle Detail
I am looking to sell my dream wagon: I have for sale a ONE OWNER 1973 Plymouth Satellite Station Wagon that was custom ordered with a 318 and 3speed "on the tree" manual transmission. I have not registered the vehicle since I purchased it because I didn't want to lose its worth being a one owner vehicle (the title is a newer copy, acquired by the "estate" of the one owner for registration purposes - car is a legitimate "one owner" vehicle). I do drive this wagon around the block and to the local gas station for fun. We're in the process of trying to obtain more equipment for our family hotrod/fabrication shop, so our loss is your gain! Auction has been lowered to start at $1,400 with NO RESERVE and a Buy It Now of $1,600!!! We're basically giving it away because we'd really like to see this wagon go to a good home! ***Several people said they would purchase this vehicle and then did not follow through with me. This is the last time it will be listed. If it doesn't sell after the auction runs to completion I will put it in storage*** Vehicle starts, runs, and drives fine. All gears shift as they should. However: The carburetor needs a high speed idler solenoid ($25-$35 on eBay) to keep a consistent idle. Car will run fine and idle fine for a while, but once gassed and the spring sticks on the idler sometimes, it'll lose idle/die when coming to a stop. Motor is firing on all 8 and seems to be the original engine and transmission. Stays cool, has decent power considering it needs a basic tuneup. At some point, the original owner plugged the radiator lines for the heater, I assume the heater core needs replacing. (I know if I fix the heater core and idler i'll just want to keep it, which is why I'd prefer to just sell it as is.) The body is extremely solid for its age. It has a few surface rust spots, and about two spots, I believe one on each rocker panel, an actual hole the size of a quarter. ALL of the glass is in good shape, all windows roll/function. Rear driver side door needs linkage fixed on outside, but opens/closes fine from the inside. Tailgate/hatch opens fine, window rolls down nice and easy. The original AM radio works! At one point the original owner also installed an 8-track, and it still functions! We listened to an 8 track we found in the back seat. It also has a functioning fan on the dash. Basically, when you sit down and fire this thing up, you feel like you're 30 years back in time. It's such a blast! I hate to sell this wagon, but as it is, we need a TIG welder and a few other odds and ends to expand our family start-up business. (I'm a state certified combination welder) The car is located in Maryville, TN. I am including a LOT of additional photos of the car (that are different from the 12 uploaded to eBay above), and will be and am trying to be as honest as I possibly can. Please feel free to ask any questions if you're a serious buyer. Beginning of pictures (more info below): End of pictures. Additional notes: Front bench seat needs to be recovered, drivers area completely worn/torn. Most doors will need the armrest piece replaced, common. As the picture shows, there are NO real dings or dents on this car. There is a small area above the passenger wheel well that has a scuff from rubbing across something, but is nothing critical. Mopar license plate, and rear bumper stickers, included! (haha) IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFO: Buyer will have to arrange shipping, unless from local area. Will help buyer with shipping however possible. EDITED AUCTION TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BELOW: I was asked to take some close-up pictures of the rust spots/damaged areas, and of the under carriage. First of all, I was wrong about BOTH rockers having rust, it's just the passenger side - The driver's side has no rust damage on the rocker panel! Also, I forgot to mention that the battery is NOT included. We will leave it hooked up to drive it on a trailer, move the vehicle around, and so on, but will need to take it back with us afterwards. Better pics of both rocker panels, the rust spots, the undercarriage, and a few other minor issues below: End of additional pictures. The undercarriage does have a light coating of surface rust on just about everything, but that's a pretty common issue for vehicles this old. Once again, as you can see in the pictures, it's a very solid wagon!
