  Original 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 4 speed click picture to enlarge click picture to enlarge   Barn find purchased to use engine and trans but after getting it home, looking it over and discovering it's 1 out of 458 according to the Pontiac Historical Society I thought someone may want to restore it. Car needs complete restoration to return it to its former glory.   This auction contains 100 pictures to show you the exact condition so there will be no surprises for the buyer.   If you still have questions after reading the description, please feel free to ask Car was parked due to a bad clutch and has been sitting for 22 years with some trans fluid in the cylinders  I pulled the intake and soaked the valves with PB Blaster as well as filled the cylinders with it and let set for about a month.  Tried to pull the distributor to prime oil pump and distributor broke so it now has a brand new distributor.  Cleaned up, painted and re-installed the intake.  Had the Holley 750 professionally rebuilt by Avanti Performance in Dublin, Pa.  Flushed out cooling system and installed new water pump and thermostat.  Put on used fuel pump (from a GTO) and did a little touch up painting on the engine since I had some GM blue laying around.   I've changed the oil a few times.   I was told by the owner that he had just rebuilt and modified the engine about a year before he parked it, but other than the fact that it runs very strong, I have no real proof of that fact or what the modifications were other than it does run on pump gas and sounds like it's cammed up.  He further stated that it ran in the 12's in the quarter mile and it sounds like it very well may have. Brakes do not work, right front caliper was removed Clutch is bad but trans seems to go into all gears.  There is no air cleaner.
