PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE PLACING BIDS OR ASKING QUESTIONS TO AVOID ANY CONFUSION.HEY THANX...MOTOGROTTO...THE VINTAGE CAFE AND BMW BOXER AIRHEAD RESTORATION STATION 1950-1995SPECIALIZING IN PEACE OF MIND AND PURE MOTORCYCLING SATISFACTION 610-749-0747 EASTON PA 18040. Here is a wonderful 78 R100S ORIGINAL RED SMOKE with 21,500 miles that I recently acquired from the second owner.It is virtually all original with the exception of the following tasteful upgrades which consist of the following; a new Zero Gravity smoked windshield,Brown sidestand to prevent your bike from flipping topsy turvy as with the factory nonsensical type and a rare 1979 only heel toe foot shifter which makes shifting much easier than having to stick your foot between the Brown sidestand and the shifter.The paint is all original and in pretty good shape for a 34 year old with a very few chips and some fading on the rear seat cowl and front fender.The tank is strong with some fading of the stripes.All of these Red Smoke bikes faded after some time so if you are looking at one that is not faded it is not original.The bike runs fast smooth and strong with everything working properly including the clock which I have disconnected as I see it's only logical purpose is to kill the battery.The only thing this bike will need is new tires.The ones on there are old and need to be replaced.I have left this to the new owner to pick their favorite flavor and install them at their expense.Otherwise this bike is ready to roll.The mileage is authentic and I have applied for the title from Harrisburg and should have it in a matter of days.This is an original unrestored unmolested classic BMW that only had 9,657 models made.It has not been dual plugged and still runs the original points and condensor setup.It runs as you would expect a low mileage bike of this time frame to ride.The bike is of course with matching numbers and clear title. I am a semi retired machinist and have been restoring and collecting BMW motorcycles for over 30 years 1950-1995.MOTOGROTTO is the BMW boxer airhead restoration station.This ain't Barrett-Jackson push the button... It's only original once. This is an original R100S with matching serial numbers produced in March of 1978 according to the BMW archives in Germany.Not a clone or counterfeit that someone slapped the fairing on and called it so.It is featuring the Red Smoke paint that it came out of the factory with which may be the nicest paint scheme ever devised by BMW or anyone else for that matter.
