For sale is a 1986 Honda XL600R that has been converted into a 1986 Honda XR600R. I received this bike a couple of years ago from a friend who had it on his farm. It had been sitting in his barn for years and he needed the space. I brought it home and completely disassembled it. Mostly everything on the bike was either ruined or non existent. There was no title so instead of trying to restore it to the original street and trail condition, I decided to just convert it to a dirt demon.I drained the engine of all fluids and everything that could be changed,put a UNI air filter in it, competition oil, competition spark plug,a SUPER TRAPP exhaust system, cleaned up the frame and put the engine back in the frame.bought all new plastic for it, including and brand new poly enduro 6 gallon gas tank. I replaced the seat and seat cover.None of the electronics worked, so I removed them (turn signals, brake light, head light, horn, ect, ect) I put a front number plate on it in place of the headlight.All of the brake pads and drums have been replaced and all brakes function perfectly. The only problems left on this bike are that it needs a new rear tire (front is brand new) and the carbs leak gasoline a little. Needs the gasket replaced. There is also a piece of the engine cover cracked off where it holds the clutch cable in place (it can be seen in the pics) but Ive wired it up and never had a problem with it. There is over $2000.00 invested into this machine between time labor and parts. It is a hard starting bike!!! All of these 600R's were. But this is a great running, fast, powerful machine not intended for kids. I am 6 foot tall and 240 lbs and have ridden all of my life and this thing is almost too much for me!!
