Vehicle Detail

1971 MGB Roadster. I am moving to the west coast and, unfortunately, don't have room to take this car with me. It was originally a Texas car, and has seen very little salt or snow since I've owned it. The car was reliable and strong, but is in need of a body restoration and some TLC. Would be a great winter project for someone looking for a nice MGB. Engine has few miles on it since rebuild. Starts fast and makes strong oil pressure. Recently rebuilt cylinder head with new valve guides and valve job. Carburetor shaft bushings have been replaced. So carbs run strong, and have no vacuum leaks. Converted to a GM 3 wire alternator. Has original oil cooler installed as well. Radiator tanks were resoldered about two years ago, and a new water pump installed. Aluminum hood (bonnet) Good condition fold down top, about 6 years old, with zip out rear window Brake master cylinder is about 6 years old Good, working 12 volt battery Has an Aiwa CD radio installed in it, as well as different seats. The seats are from some 90s car and are comfortable, and fit under the soft top. I still have the original seats, which are available but they need complete restoration, and I need notice to retrieve them. Trunklid is drilled for a trunk rack, which I'll include if the buyer would like. This car would be a great candidate for restoration. The biggest thing the car needs is rocker panels and rear fender dogleg panels. There is minimal structural rust on the castle rails. It also has it's share of dents and dings from many years of service. The hydraulics are working, but seem to have slow leaks, so should be inspected before returning the car to service. It was originally a pillow dash car, but the dash has since been stripped of padding, and painted flat black. This is a running car, but hasn't seen regular use for about 6 years. While it can be driven, I wouldn't plan on driving it home. The car is located near Columbus, OH. I don't have the ability to transport it. Buyer will need to pick it up in Marysville, OH. Car must be picked up before October 31. Inspections are available by appointment. Please email me any questions. thanks, James **Update** I forgot to mention, The car has been converted to use tube shocks front and rear. I also have the full toneau, the half toneau, and bars that are included with the car. The car has had all front suspension bushings, brake calipers, and kingpins replaced once. I cannot guarantee their condition today, but they have been done once before. Finally, I have looked at the floors and from what is visible, the Driver side floor has some rust where it touches the carpet, but it is still solid. The passenger side floor shows some perforation in the areas where it touches the carpet, and feels somewhat softer. The car runs well, but I would not drive this car home without a safety inspection since it has not been driven regularly for a few years. Thanks
