1972 Volkswagon Bus Type 2 Transporter. Odometer reads 31,447 miles (131,447). Purchased from original owner. Title in my name. This was a "fly and drive" or commonly known as the customer delivery program bus. Purchased by Wake Forest professor in 1972 (still has Wake Forest parking sticker on bumper) in Germany and he toured Europe before shipping to the US. Interior of bus has stickers of the many countries they visited along the way, Istanbul, Venezia, Osterreich, Hotel El Greco, Beograd, etc.Bus was daily driver until it was parked in a garage for 18 years. The last official NC inspection was in 1989. Near 100% original rare unrestored.If you are looking for a bus to restore or drive just as it is, this is one for you! It has the original interior cot, ladder, stool, upholstery, some curtains. Original Emden Radio, works! Orginal manual and many receips for repairs that were made over the years. One receipt states engine was overhauled in 1976.Since I purchased, it has new brakes, including master cylinder and all brake lines, new muffler, new battery, rebuilt carburators and tuneup. Good tires. 110v power outlet works. All rust is surface rust, it can be sanded out. Underneath looks good, no undercoating to hide rust or repair. Lower portion of driver's seat deteriorated. Small hole in canvas pop top. All windows original. I purchased in 2005 and have not used as a daily driver. While it starts right up and purrs, I never registered, insured or tagged the bus. Upon purchase, buyer needs to make payment within 7 days and upon receipt of payment, clear title will be overnighted to you.
