Vehicle Detail
This hurts, but I'm moving and can't take it with me... My beloved, highly customized 2008 Triumph Thruxton. First, you will notice the custom hand-made aluminum tank, seat cowl, and front fender. The tank was made by T.A. Baker in the UK and was one of the last he made before passing away. The seat cowl and front fender are also hand made aluminum from The Tank Shop in the UK. The seat is stock but has been cut to fit the larger capacity fuel tank. Second, you will notice what is NOT there. The side panels have been removed, air box removed, and battery box area has been cleaned up to provide an authentic classic racer look. All the relays, switches, and connections have been moved under the seat. The rear brake master cylinder replaced and moved as well. You will not see many Triumphs like this on the street. The original battery has been replaced with a more powerful, smaller, lightweight LiFePO4 battery using A123 battery cells. Third, I am running the Triumph Performance USA "Dominator Touring" exhaust. In my mind this is the best exhaust you can get for this bike that keeps the original "megaphone" style exhaust of the stock bike. It is quiet at low RPM's but really growls once you get on it. The Dominator Touring exhaust also gives you a bit more torque than other free flowing exhaust pipes. Other modifications include:The rear fender was removed. The front and back turn signals are LED and fit the slim profile of the bike. The front master brake cylinder has been replaced by a British Customs model to also lower the profile of the bike. The stock mirrors have obviously been removed in favor of a single lane-splitting bar-end mirror.Front fork springs replaced with Hagon progressive springs.Rear suspension replaced with Ikons.Tires are Avon Road Riders which have some miles left on them. If I were you, I'd replace them with some stickier tires, like Pirelli Sport Demons. BONUS!!! I still have the stock fuel tank, seat cowl, and front fender if you want to put it back to stock. This is the rare Silver/Red combination that Triumph hasn't made since 2008. You'll also get a Dart flyscreen, and the Triumph brand Thruxton tank bag, which fits the stock tank. There is probably more that I'm forgetting, but those are the major upgrades/customizations to the bike.
