This car is being relisted due to a buyer that purchased the car and then 1 hr later decided he really didn't want to buy a car - you know who you are please do not bid on the car again.1979 Corvette - frame is solid not pitted or rusted, originally from NC 76,700 miles showing on odometer but the rebuilt drive train including the motor has only around 3000 miles on it. The original motor was replaced with a GM Performance ZZ4 350 crate motor with 10:1 compression and aluminum heads, 355 HP @ 5250 RPM, 405 ft/lbs TQ @ 3500 RPM Comp "Thumper" roller cam was installed. The idle sounds like 60's muscle car The 4 speed transmission and rear end have been professionally rebuilt The stock shifter was replaced with a Hurst Shifter & linkage kit The vacuum operated headlight system has been rebuilt and the lights open and close as they should. Headers and a custom dual exhaust with H-pipe, DYNO-MAX mufflers were installed Alpine AM/FM/CD radio with Ipod adapter was installed The brakes have been rebuilt including the parking brake New gas shocks, new Be-Cool aluminum direct fit radiator with dual electric cooling fans, Optima Red Top Battery, new heater core and hoses, Lloyds custom floor mats, T-top bags The gauges all operate correctly except for the clock The power windows operate correctly The interior lights work, the taillights and turn signals work.This Corvette is very dependable, the low milage motor starts right up everytime, steering is tight, brakes stop straight (no pulling to the side)The car gets a lot of compliments and is a lot of fun to drive with ZZ4 performance motor and a smooth shifting 4 speed. New "Torch Red" paint job that's nice and shiny All of the expensive work has been done the only thing left to do is the interior which has a few blemishes Overall I would consider this car to be a 10 footerThis is a car that you can just get in and drive and have fun with just the way it is. As you can see a lot of money has been invested in this car already. I've been asked about the condition of the tires. The Uniroyal tires have very few miles on them. The chrome Rally wheels were installed along with the tires. The trim rings and metal caps are also new. I was also asked if I wiould assist with shipping. I will do what ever I can to work along with whoever you choose to ship the car.On Oct-06-12 at 05:53:06 PDT, seller added the following information: I was asked if the weatherstripping has been replaced and the answer is no. The car was just recently sitting outside in my driveway and it started to rain hard and I told my wife that we will see now if the t-tops leak. When the rain stopped we checked to see and saw that the interior was still dry. Also someone asked if the car overheats. The answer is no. It has a new aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The engine stays at around 180 degrees even when sitting in traffic on a hot day. Mechanically this car is in excellent condition. The only things left to do are cosmetic upgrades that don't affect the performance of the car.
