Base S and better-equipped SE models come with a 197-horsepower, 3.8-liter V-6 engine and luxurious, this is the SE Model better equipped not the base model . All models get a six-speed automatic transmission or tiptronic so you do manual and front-wheel drive. In addition to offering more power and torque, the larger, 4.0-liter engine is also more economical, with EPA fuel economy ratings of 17 mpg city, 25 highway--1 mpg better in the city and 2 better on the highway than the 3.8-liter. The Routan promises to be more exciting to drive than the typical minivan, with a so-called "European tuned" McPherson front suspension and twist-beam rear axle suspension with crisp rack-and-pinion steering. When properly optioned, the Routan can tow up to 3,500 pounds, only towed our small boat of about 800 lbs. twice but did very good. Inside, the Routan gets a clean, two-tone appearance to the instrument panel, with materials and gauge faces that match the rest of VW's lineup. All models come with supportive bucket seats in front, but there are two possible configurations for the second row. This model has two second-row captain's chairs and the rear bench 3rd row. Features a 60/40-split third-row bench that folds neatly into the floor to expand cargo space when it's not in use. No matter what the trim, the Routan comes with standard features and conveniences aimed at busy families and passenger comfort, including a total of 13 cupholders and plenty of storage cubbies throughout for everything from childrens' toys to parents' PDAs. At the top of the range, a Premium package in which this car was ordered with and includes, completely loads the Routan with features, including HID headlamps, fog lamps, a sunroof, remote start, rear parking assist, a rear entertainment system, a 506-watt sound system with CD/DVD changer, and a 115-volt power outlets. Top options include a touch-screen video system upfront, which includes a 30-gigabyte hard drive and music & photo storage,and more and 2 rear DVD entertainment systems with wireless headphones, kids can watch two movies at the same time, no matter where they sit they can pick which movie they want thier headphones to hear, or they can play video games or mp3, etc.. For a minivan this is the best looking by far, with all the bells and whistles open the sunroof, side windows roll down also as some minivans do not, remote doors for kids to get in themselves...who wants to pick them up and break your back? Remote Doors are Convenient for parents, grandparents, guest, Remote trunk for groceries and shopping...who opens their own trunk anymore, we might break a nail? With style and class, hey if it's good enough for Cindy Crawford! If you are looking for a clean well taken care of minivan you found it!! I do have 100% feedback I have had for years to keep it at 100% I do have to say it does have minor imperfections, seats have some spots I haven't tried to clean them, one quarter size scratch/ding shown in pictures,of course age related items from use. This is a good car for the right price, I took the loss for you when I drove it off the lot, this van has it all for a great price!!
