Vehicle Detail
We bought this car and used it for about a year. It worked just great until one day someone was driving it and it ran out of fuel. Then it never would really run well. We put new injectors in it about 4 months before it quit running right. We got it running and drove it around one day, then when we turned it off, it wouldn't start up again. It cranks and cranks, but won't start. The guy I bought it from said that it had about 190k miles. I put about 10k miles on it, but I think it has closer to 300k on it. The odometer isn't working.A/C isn't workingSome door locks don't workSome stuff works and some doesn't. Just ask if you have a question. The sunroof works, and that is what really matters!! The paint had leprosy when we bought it, so we sanded it and got it ready to paint. A buddy of mine was going to paint it, but then it quit running, and we decided to hold off. It has a lovely coat of black primer. We loved this car, and my son and I went out in the side yard and sat in the car and came to terms with the separation. Maybe someday we will get another 190d, but Mom says "NOT for a long time" This car will need to be towed. The driver seat has some wear, but the others are in really nice shape as you can see from the photos. The VEGGIE CAR KIT*************************** The guy I bought it from put a veggie kit on it. That stainless steel tank in the back looks like it is worth $200 by itself. It holds about 15-16 gallons of veggie oil. You can use waste vegetable oil, or use it as a back up tank and between both tanks you carry about 30 gallons of fuel. The car got about 30 MPG for us so we could fill it and drive for a month. There is a switch to a solenoid for switching between WVO and diesel or the front and back tank. There is a heater in the stainless steel tank. There is a heater around a fuel filter in the front. That sticky looking red stuff on the injector lines was a heating element to heat the veggie fuel. If you set this up and know what you are doing, you can run without spending $$$ on fuel. Problem*********** I had a buddy check it out, and he said that the fuel injector pump is out. These can be purchased on ebay. It is the 5 port one, and I think that it uses the same as a 300d. These engines are indestructible, but fuel system isn't. If we knew more about cars that we do, we would keep it. This is a solid car. The parts on one of these can be pretty valuable, but we are moving and Mom says that the Mercedes has to go. We are selling this for $1 starting bid, and if you want to make an offer, have your credit card ready. If you tend to get sick, go to the hospital, or your mother-in-law gets terrible diseases right after you win ebay auctions, please don't bid. If you don't have any money, or you aren't sure if you want this, please don't bid. If you can't deposit $500 within 24 hours of winning, please don't bid. If you don't have an extra $1000- $2000 to put into this car, please don't bid. I figure that the veggie kit is worth about $1000 and if this car goes over $2000 I will throw in the filters and goodies I have for it in the garage. We are moving, and we can't store or ship the car. WINNING BIDDER AGREES TO DEPOSIT $500 within 24 hours of winning and pick up the car within 5 business days of winning. If you have any questions, please contact me. This car is about 9 miles from I-15 in St. George UT.
