Vehicle Detail

1936 Rolls-Royce 2-door coup project car I received this car from my best friend and mentor. He and I were going to get it fixed up and it was one of his wishes for us to drive it to the grand opening of my nightclub, but the car project got put on the back burner. It sat in my backyard for 14 years. Unfortunately my friend passed and as I mourned his passing I went in the backyard to reminisce, the car was totaly shrouded in sumac trees, an out of sight, out of mind, situation. After cutting the trees down, I really saw the car in all its glory. She truly is a classic beauty and to drive her would be like dating Liz Taylor or Ms. Monroe, or any of the European beauties of the past. This is a car for a baller or shot-caller and how it is restored should reflect that. Whom ever wins this one will be the envy of the road. This is a ture story and I hope and pray that its new owner will theat it with love and care. I think this car is suitable for one of the TV shows that rebuild cars and would win any contest. I could not find a vin#, nor do I have the key or a title. It is the proverbial classic, that one hopes to find on a farm or back yard. It's a car buff's dream. My friend was a Harvard graduate, military officer and lawyer, and I'm sure at the time he gave me the car, the title if any, was clear. He told me that it was a 1936 Rolls-Royce and I have no reason not to take him at his word. As a salute to him, this car should and must be back on the road, for all to see. I am not an auto mechanic, or body expert and cannot answer those types of questions, but I do love fine cars, as he did I will describe it the best I can, so there may be a lot of superlatives, lol. It's a 2-seater with a rumble seat in the back, that works. It has been restored before and modified to fit an American motor. As you can see, there is rust and past repairs can be seen. Its a 2 door and both open. After opening the passenger side door, it was hard to close. It has white bucket seats and has a striking, hand carved 1/2 inch oak dashboard. The stereo is missing and the dash has been damaged to get it out. The glove box is solid oak, also. It has running boards with tire storage on both sides, also, the tool chest is located on the drivers side. The roof has a black vinyl cover, but it is peeling. The front is long with shark gills along the side. My son calls it a gangster car. All of the glass is intact as are the wipers with their individual motors. Include are five spoke hubcaps, however, all tires are flat. It has a large v8 under the bonnet, with a big 4bl carb. All but one gauge is in the dash and the speedometer has 160 on the dial. All shifters, peddels, door and window handles are intact. The hood release cable is snapped, but hood can be opened. The gas top is located behind the plate holder. The tail and head lights are there. It has dual exhausts pipes in the rear. The frame looks to be solid steel as is the front end bumper. This is a long, big, heavy car. THIS IS THE ULTIMATE IN FIXER UPPERS, and it needs a total restoration. The buyer is responsible for pickup and delivery, at their own expense. A $1000 down payment must be made within one week of winning bid. Full payment must be in my account within 2 weeks of winning bid. I use paypal. The pictures reflect its condition and is being sold as is. What you see is what you get. I have never seen it run. It is what it is. The car must be retrived within 2 weeks of receipt of funds and seller must be notified at least a week before pick up. The sell is final! Good luck and I hope you win the bid. On Oct-06-12 at 20:58:51 PDT, seller added the following information: ATTENTION BIDDERS I forgot to include pictures of the hubcaps, or mention that there was a crest of some kind on them. There is a ribbon that has black and white checkers on top of a shield. In the center of the shield is a lion standing on his hind feet, that has a crown on its head, holding a sword in its right hand. The lion’s tail is pointing up and is curled in a circle, with a flower in the circle, also, there is a flower over its right hind paw. The lion is white on a red background. At the bottom of the shield is the same black and white checkers that were on the top ribbon.
