Vehicle Detail

Here's a pretty nice Frank Sinatra Edition Imperial. From the excerpt below only a few hundred of these were ever produced. (From allpar.com:) Burton Bouwkamp wrote, “To try to stimulate sales we even did a ‘Blue Eyes’ special model that was the color of Frank Sinatra's eyes [Glaciar Blue paint]. The buyer also got a console full of Frank Sinatra cassettes with the car. (Frank and Lee were buddies then and called each other ‘Chairman.’)” The Frank Sinatra edition was made in 1981 and 1982, costing a stunning $2,000 more. The “FS” Imperials also included platinum-color carpet, sky-blue leather or velour, emblems, a console that held 10 cassettes, and a leather cassette carrying case. 278 of the special-order cars were made, a decent number considering the added cost of the car and the ready availability of Frank Sinatra cassettes. There's plenty more information on these cars on the internet if you need more details. This particular car is in the desert community of Victorville, CA about half way between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. My father-in-law is the second owner of the car and has owned it around 10 years. He bought it locally from the wife of the original owner. It has been parked in his garage for the last 8 years. My wife and I are helping them downsize and it is time for it to go. Since it has been sitting so long, I told him not to try and start it so he hasn't. It will need the usual fluids changed, battery, fresh gas, etc before starting. He says everything worked fine when he last drove it (I know ...... you've heard that before!) . So if you'd like to bid and want to be skeptical, assume nothing works, bid accordingly, and then be pleasantly surprised when some or all of the things actually do. I took the pictures in Sept 2012 on our last visit to Victorville - about 110 miles from my home. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the odometer or get a close up of the special emblems but they are there. The paint is faded on the trunk lid, top, and hood. There is no rust. The interior just needs a good cleaning for it to be very nice. The only thing I noticed missing was the actual mirror from the passenger side mirror. When I called to get the mileage I asked about the cassettes or cassette case and he doesn't recall getting those with the car. Sell to USA only. $500 Deposit to Paypal within 2 days.
