Vehicle Detail
Selling my father-son car that went south. I bought this 1974 Datsun 260Z for my son and I to enjoy. However, once he mastered how to shift in this ol' girl, his attention quickly shifted to my M3 sittiing in the garage. Apparantly, my heir apparent would rather have luxury than the beasty power this triple weber z-car evokes. The carbs are made in Italy(see photo and video) not Spain. They were just tune and sound great. The Z also has headers to round out the throaty sound of the Webers. It rides on 280ZX alloys. The spare is also the same alloy. The 5speed transmission came out of a 1981 280ZX and the rear end is a R200. Most of the hard work has already been completed on this Z. It does have some surface rust here and there but the rails, dog legs, rockers and floors are clean(see photos). The rear hatch does have some surface rust as most Z's of this vintage has. The corners on the body are clean on both sides(see photos and video). Just change out the rear hatch and it will be fine once again. This Z just hums nicely down the road. An electric fuel pump helps feed the throaty Webers. If you've never driven a triple Weber Z-car before, be prepared to be impressed. It does have a E88 head. If you want, I can give you the number ideas to make this even beastier than it already is. I had a feel eraly E31 heads in mind that would make this an even bigger beast with the right cam and grind. That was my intention as I had a 240Z back in my youth and I really thought he was on board with me. But NO, once he learned how to drive stick, this one was out. Sad but true but that's how they are these days. So, I am giving up my dream of a father-son car and will let someone else put on the finishing touches. The interior is nice and the headliner does not sag, the dash has a full dash cap on it not just the half cap. The jack and tools are in the storage compartment(see photo). The original owner's manual, although missing the front and rear cover is in the glove box. It will make someone happy as they add their touches to a decent car that has had alot of work already done. Selling this Z for NO RESERVE. Final bid gets to take it home. Vehicle is also advertised locally and seller reserves right to end auction early and cancel all bids. With all my auctions, a few requirements. First, NO PAYPAL. Second, any and all bidders with less than 10 feedback and/or negative feedback must contact me prior to bidding with their name and contact number or your bid will be cancelled and your user ID blocked from additinal bidding. Third, you are bidding to own, not look and make excuses. Any and all inspections welcome during the auction period, not after. Once the auction is over, you are the new owner. Also selling in AS-IS. Where-IS condition with NO Warranties, expressed or implied. Seller has represented vehicle to the best of his knowledge and makes no representations that are unknown to him. Let the auction begin on this great Z-CAR with the sexy triple Weber Italian Carbs. On Oct-02-12 at 20:02:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello and thanks for all the comments and questions. Here are the answers. The production date is 1/74. I will not separate the Italian Webers from the car. I do not have the Hitachis, who would want those carbs anyway. The headliner and interior is decent. The dome light works, the courtesy light in the engine bay works too. It is a California car and needs someone to take it to the next level. The title is clean and it is smog exempt in California.
