Starts on the first key turn every time. Registered and insured in NJ as a classic car, so it is completely street legal. I’ve never taken this car off road or on sand. Bucket seats in front. Bench seat in back with one lap belt allows 2 or 3 kids to be piled in for trips to the beach or ice cream stand. Great VW horn makes everyone smile. I’ve owned this buggy for 6 years and always kept it in a climate controlled garage. All maintenance done by local VW specialist including replacing carb, brakes, shocks, and annual inspections and oil changes. Tires are in great shape and have years of tread left – oversize rear tires look awesome. Purple lighting in cockpit and underneath add cool effect when driving at night. Everything works except for one fog light. There are no windshield wipers, but this is not a real problem since there is no roof either. The previous owner replaced the odometer, so the reading of 91,040 is surely not accurate. I love this buggy and hate to sell it, but the kids are getting older and we rarely use it anymore.
