1981 Honda CX500 Custom Up for auction is my brother's Honda motorcycle. It has been in our family since 1987 and was used to tool around Lake Geneva. It was always stored in a garage and never driven in bad weather. The bike has been in my possession for the last 5 years and has been in storage. I recently began liquidating some of my toys and decided to offer it for sale. It is in very good condition for the year and it's age. My brother bought it from a neighbor in Lake Geneva. the tires are in good shape and the gauges are in near perfect condition. The chrome shows well and has some minor imperfections. There are a few scratches like on the gas tank but nothing major. the seat is in great shape with no tears or rips. The piping on the back rest is split but is no big deal and could easily be fixed by an upholstery repair shop. Mechancially it runs great. Carbs were cleaned and rebuilt this summer and a new water pump was also replaced several years ago. It has a new battery and is ready for some fall riding. this bike is perfect for the beginner or someone who is nostalgic towards old Honda's. Look at all the pictures! Bike can be seen at our Auto Dealership. You can cruise through the neighborhood but no freeway jaunts as we are not a licensed motorcycle dealer and have no license plates for test rides of that sort. Keep in mind bike is 31 years old and is not new! However it is pretty nice and coming from a guy who collects a lot of old stuff it is worth our buy it now price. Marks on gas tank is primarily dust. There is some scratches though and I am sure some compund and a buffer could take most of them out.
