1984 Porsche 911 Factory Turbo Look Coupe. The M491 was basically a 911 turbo minus turbo motor and 4 speed gearbox. They came with the wide body work of the turbo along with the larger brakes and suspension. While the power is not on par with the turbo, the "turbo look" cars have developed something of a cult following and are appreciated for the lower maintainence costs and more civil driving characteristics. With all "special production" rapidly appreciating in value, it makes much more sense to invest in and enjoy one of these over a regular Carrera. This cars prior ower was an airplane pilot, he was meticulous about taking care of the mechanicals on this 911. This level of care is reflected in how this 911 drives. It runs, shifts and brakes exceptionally well. The motor had an extensive, documented rebuild about 40k miles ago. This car has been a driver, the paint is presentable but there are a host of minor dings, scratches, and rock chips. The interior is also showing its age to some extent, the front seats have split at the seams and should be recovered. While this car is a nice driver quality 911 as is, If I were to keep it I would enjoy it for the rest of the fall and then do a moderate cosmetic restoration. Its rust free and all of the mechanicals are well sorted, for such a striking vehicle the paint and interior should be brought up to a similar level.
