Hello This is clean and well cared for 1983 Mercedes 380 SL convertible. The car has been my fathers summer car for the past fourteen years, and has spent a good portion of its life in the protection of his garage. the convertible top is in good condition, sorry we no longer have the hard top. The exterior is in good condition their are no major scratches in paint and it has a nice sheen to it. The interior has aged well for a car that is 29 years old the leather seats are in good shape. there is a hole in the dash from the the cars old security system, but I'm sure something can be found to cover it up . the car drives very well, it has new rear springs and shocks, the tires have been replaced recently as well ,but i couldn't tell you the mileage on them. the engine has recently been gone trough as well, and the valve cover gaskets have been replaced to fix an oil leak, and pretty much every vacuum line has been replaced along with the idle air control modual as well, along with spark plugs,and wires fuel and air filters and of course an oil change. the car has just recently passed the smog test in California. OK so now for whats wrong for the car the air conditioning does not work we haven't looked in to it because, well its a convertible that's used by the coast. and the transmission does, and always has shifted a little hard in to second gear , but we have been told that this is normal for this car. there is also a little bit a play in the steering. the car is for sale because my Father has one car too many, and it just made the most sense to sell this one. anyway thanks for looking, if you have any questions please feel free to drop me a line.
