Vehicle Detail

This is a 1969 Mercedes Benz 280S. It has 60700 miles and is One Owner its whole life. The 280s is all Numbers matching car with the Rare 4 speed automatic transmission. It has the Mercedes 2.8 Inline 6 M130 motor. I have quite a few Classic Mercedes Benz and bought this one to restore but have too many projects going on at once to get to this one before winter. I will try my best to give a detailed description of this classic Benz. I will start with the interior. The seats are a red MB-Tex and are in very good shape. Actually they are perfect with the exception of the drivers seat has a small tear in the seat back. the frames and chrome on them are great as are the head rests and seat belts. The dash is beautiful no cracks or dis coloration. The wood in the dash and glove box is great and wont even need to be refinished. The wood strip on the top of the dash by the windshield is not rotted at all but could use a new finish to shine like the rest of the dash. I even have the wood insert with the chrome 280S logo on it for where the radio hole is it is in perfect shape. Now for the doors the door skins are great still bright red no cracks or tears. All the chrome on the doors are bright too and the wood around the windows is not rotted. The rear seat is perfect including the folding armrest no tears rips or even lines in it. The front passenger seat is the same extremely nice no damage at all. The carpet is in good shape except for the driver and passenger floors it wore away with time. The floor boards seem real solid under the carpet no rust. The steering wheel and center cap have not cracks and is nice dark black. The instrumentation looks clean and not pitted. This interior is in great shape and will not need to be touched to be reused in this car or another car. I have purchased complete interiors in this shape for over 2000.00 for some of my cars. Now for the exterior. The car has rust and rot in all the common W108 body style places front fenders and lower rockers have rust and rot. As does the rear 1/4 panels and trunk wells. The hood, trunk lid and floor and all 4 doors and roof are in great shape. Floors seem solid as well. The 280s has all its original hub caps in great shiny shape still. All the exterior bright work (chrome) around the windows, trim, vents, wiper arms lights are in bright and great shape no rust or pitting or dings. The lower bumper in the front has some rust the rear does not have rust. Upper bumpers don't have rust. Finally now for the mechanical parts. It is a complete numbers matching system. The Engine is the M130 with the Zenith 2bbl carburetors. It has the rare four speed automatic transmission. This car has not run since the late 1990's but was in a garage for most of that time. The engine is not frozen or stuck. Once again this car is ONE OWNER with the Illinois title showing it was bought new. It is also a Numbers Matching car. This car is not missing anything it is complete not part is missing or taken off at all. This car would make a great project for a easy restore or the most complete parts Mercedes out there. I would like to see it go to some one who plans to restore it not part it out. Its too complete and original not to be restored. The car is worth allot more in parts then i am asking allot more I know this but I hope by selling it cheaper it goes somewhere to be restored. finding complete one owner, number matching W108 Mercedes is becoming really hard to do. I am a member of the Mercedes Benz Club of America and am passionate about Classic Mercedes so please ask any questions you may have about the car. I also am not a car sales man and am not looking to profit my selling this car I just want to recoup hopefully most of what I paid for it and send it to a good home. The keys are missing but if you take the title to Mercedes dealer they can get you a new key for very little.
