Vehicle Detail
If you are looking for a nice Airhead here you go. I got this bike last year and tinkered with it rode it a lot and now am getting another Bmw so this one has to go. The bike runs and rides smooth the tires are about 80% and the paint is good except for one scuff on the tank. When I got the bike I put on new points and condenser. I also rebuilt the master cylinder and front brake cylinder. The bike had the seat recovered and the stitching is yellow to match the bike. This bike is in great shape and ready for the road. That having been said this bike is 36 years old and has a few issues that need to be addressed. I believe in being honest and straight when selling vehicles. I am going to list ALL the issues that still need to be addressed. From front to back I will list these issues The bike at one point had a sport fairing installed. (Sorry it isn't a 90/s) The fairing and the front turn signals are long gone. The bike needs new front signals. The tac seems to work but no needle in gauge. You can replace needle or entire tachometer Horn isn't working I think because it goes through the same blinker relay for the front signals. The right foot exhaust nut needs to be replaced. I have been using exhaust tape to create the seal as a stop gap measure. The left foot peg shows wear from use not laid down. It could stand to be replaced for that oh so new look. The left Carb is leaking a little gas. FIXED!!! (Cork Gasket was bad) Could just need a good cleaning I was planning on rebuilding both carbs over the winter and adding in-line fuel filters. The center stand needs new springs installed. ( I will include these with the bike)Rear signals are attached but not operating. I also think this goes through the same relay. The alternator charges at high end rev but at low speeds and revs the battery will go flat. I was going to do the Motorad alternator upgrade this winter. These issues get to be the new owners project. If you prefer I can have these issues addressed by my favorite local bike shop, MC cycles here in Columbia Mo. These guys are fair and prices are great I have always kept the bike garaged and covered. This is a great ole thumper gets down the road and has a lot of torque. I am already regretting selling this bike. It has such a cool look and stance the bike is friggin awesome. Like I said I am getting a newer bigger BMW. Winning bidder will get the chance to buy some 1976 Krauser hard case panniers that are original issue for this bike. I also have a very rare Reynolds back rest for this bike. When the seat was recovered I didn't have the backrest installed. PLEASE ask any questions before bidding. I watched a very similar bike sell here on Ebay a couple weeks ago for 4 grand. Someone will get a great deal on a sweet bike. I can email video of the bike starting and running if you are interested. Clear title in hand. The pictures were taken in the morning and kind of give the bike a sunburst look. The bike is one color Yellow. Good luck and happy riding.
