The Hondamatic name is used on all automatic transmissions from Honda." This is a bullet proof motor and in the hands of the right person it will most definitely out last the next 40 for sure! These bikes are the most user control friendly bike on the market. This particular bike is one of the cleanest we've seen. The savings on gas alone is fantastic. On Sep-19-12 at 19:53:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a little info about the hondamatic..... although I stated above the years between 1973-1979 that included the first hondamatic in the civic. Also referred to as handamatic and was the first known built hondamatic engine. The Hondamatic was later used in Honda's 400, 450 and 750 cc motorcycles. In this application, it is not a true automatic transmission. The rider must manually select one of the two gears, though Honda's torque converter means that no clutching is needed. Just more FYI.
