1994 Caprice Classic Wagon. Good Car. Low 121k Miles. No reserve. This is my 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Classic wagon. I have had it about two years, bought from an older gentleman with 103k. Now has 121k miles on it. I have had 4 of these Caprice wagons, and this is the best one. Moving, must sell. Nice cheap car with no reserve. This is our personal car, it is inspected and insured. Clear title in my name issued in October 2010. The Good: -Super reliable car. Engine is perfect. Runs and drives great. Transmission gone through when I got it because that is the only weak spot on these cars- Have receipt for over $700 replacing all the shift solenoids and flushing the transmission. Shifts perfectly. Radiator is two years old. Tires are good. Cruise control works. All electric switches and locks working. -Body is great with no rust. low mileage car. No cracks on windows. -Interior is nice with no rips or tears on seats. Third row seat. Radio-Cassette works well. Heated mirrors. tailgate and rear window are perfect. No pets, smells or leaks. -Has a set of brand new Gabriel rear air shocks with the air line kit to install them that I never got the chance to have my mechanic put on the car. The rear shocks on the car are fine, but these cars can carry a lot of weight, and I like the air shocks on the rear so they don't drag the tail pipes going up steep driveways when fully loaded. The set is worth over $100, and definitely a good thing to have. The Bad: -A/C works but has a slow leak, so it won't hold freon for more than six months. I charged it last summer, and again this March, and it was ice cold all summer, but its not cold any more. Mechanic says the slow leak is at the front of the compressor, which is expensive to fix, so I have just had it charged at the start of the summer and lived with it that way. -Started bendix is wearing out, so the starter disengages on the first start when the car is cold. Just started to go, but I have a good used tested Corvette starter to replace it that goes with the car. -One muffler is new, one had a tiny hole that was patched. Will need that muffler replaced in a year. All the the exhaust pipes are good and solid. -Brakes are good and work well, but my mechanic said the front pads will need to be done soon, so I got a set of genuine GM Delco Impala SS/Police brake pads and they go with the car. -Front electric windows are perfect, but the rears need a hand on the glass to go back up. This is a common problem with these cars, because there's a nylon roller in the window track that crumbles and needs replacing. Its a $1 part, but a two hour job to do both rear windows. Fortunately, there's a lock on the drivers power window switch. The Ugly: -Car is 19 years old and has little dings and scratches all over, as seen in the pictures. -The headliner is coming down over the rear cargo area. Another common problem with these cars. -Carfax report shows an accident before I got the car, and indeed the front passenger door gap is wider at the top, but it seals air and water perfectly and the car is tight, quiet and doesn't leak. -When I bought the car, the older man I got it from assured me the lien on the title had been paid and released. It was paid off, but had not actually released, and I have since secured a release from Key Bank that will go with the title, so when the car is retitled it will be clear.
