Vehicle Detail

Porsche 928s Project Car 1982 Porsche 928S, 220 hp (US); 240 hp (Europe/Rest of World (ROW)) Guards Red or India Red (“Indischrot”), bright red with orange, great color when buffed and shined. Dark brown leather seats, tears only on driver’s seat. Leather trim inside car, including headroom area. 3-spd automatic, power options. Lots of records and treated with love, needs a new owner/enthusiast. Body in great shape and NO damage. This is a fun reliable fun car. Top speed rated by Porsche at 140 mph (assuming new tires, aligned, and newly inspected and maintained linkages). “S” features: front air dam, 16” flat dish slotted wheels, back polyurethane air spoiler. Engine: V-8, SOHC. Great V-8 growl. 105,000 miles, accurate. Timing belt replaced at around 95,000 miles, but due to age (7 years), may need to be inspected. Previous owner removed underbelly pan. Used, maybe $80. Consult website www.928intl.com – lots of free advice! Car was used regularly up to 2005, but eventually just not started or used. I suspect freeze-up of gasoline so new spark plugs maybe needed; new battery; de-sludge gas tank, then use fresh gas. There may be some leaks with the old gas filler pipe. Once the car is started, driven regularly, it will be a great car for Sunday fun driving and actually can be used maybe 2x a week going to work (so it doesn’t get too high mileage). This car, when used regularly, is dependable, fun, and fast. This car is ideal for a Porsche enthusiast willing to learn about the car, spend some time tinkering with it, and then occasionally going to a mechanic for the more complex repairs. I think it will pass smog because it did last time (well, maybe 8 years ago), but I believe it still has a good Oxygen sensor. The red paint can be addressed easily with a car wash, clay bar treatment, Meguiar’s glaze, and then waxing.
