1997 528i for sale with no reserve. Vehicle is generally straight and solid but has it share of minor body imperfections and is in need of various repairs. The first issue is that the vehicle will begin to overheat once it reaches normal operating temperature. I have already replaced the water pump, thermostat, and thermostat housing but that did not take care of the issue. Vehicle starts and runs smooth up until it begins to overheat. The vehicle has always been shut off once it begins overheating and has never been driven hot. I'm assuming at this point that the vehicle probably needs a head gasket as it is leaking some coolant but I do not know for sure. Next issue is that the LCM or light control module is bad. When these begin to go bad the high beams will stay on constantly, even with the vehicle shut off. Due to this the high beams have been disconnected, all other lights are currently functioning as of today. The wheels all have some cosmetic issues but all four have matching Sumitomo all season tires with less than 2000 miles on them. There is a matching spare in the trunk as well but the tire on it is an older Hankook. Interior is in fair condition and has it's share of imperfections as well. The steering wheel leather is worn off in spots and the leather is in overall fair condition. The screen for the radio/nav works intermittently but the radio itself still functions and there is a 6 disk CD changer in the trunk as well. The front drivers seat is currently not functioning but it has worked intermittently. The front passenger side seat functions fine but the plastic on the side is broken off as seen in the photos. The driver side seat plastic is also not fully attached to the seat but should reattach fine with a screw which I will attempt to do before the auction is over. The suspension is tight and the brakes are good as well. Vehicle also has a fairly new windshield which was replaced last fall. I believe that I have described the vehicle to the best of my ability but feel free to ask any specific questions if there is something that I left out. The vehicle did pass the MD State Safety Inspection last fall which is rather comprehensive. Vehicle is currently being sold as-is, where-is and will need to be towed/shipped due to the overheating issue which would be both paid for and arranged by the buyer. $500 deposit due via PayPal within 24 hours of auction close. Remaining full payment minus deposit is due within 7 days of auction close, balance due can be paid either by a Certified Bank Check, USPS Money Order(s), or Cash on or before the day that the vehicle is either towed out or picked up by a shipping carrier.
