This is a rare 1990 Saleen Mustang convertible, also known as the 25TH anniversary Mustang with only 62 ever built. It has the Saleen plate on the firewall and console. The car is bright red fitted with striking 18 inch gold wheels. If gold isn’t your thing we include a set of stock red color-keyed 16 inch five-spoke alloy wheels.
Drop the top to expose the factory roll bar, leather sport seats and an upgraded Kenwood entertainment system.
There’s the deep, throaty roar of the 5.0L H.O. V8 engine. The engine specifications, body aerodynamics and weight to power ratio produce acceleration from 0 to 60mph in 5.6 sec and from 0 to 100mph in 14.5 sec.
The car has no dents or panel damage but the repaint from
2005 is faded and chipped. The Saleen decals were reapplied with the exceptionof the accent stripes at the door bottom. The bumper serialization number (04) is showing wear.
The underside is solid with only minor surface rust.
The convertible top has numerous small holes and needs
replacement. The power mechanism to raise and lower the top is not functioning.
The rear window lowers but needs help when being raised. The 22 year old leather seats did not hold up well and will require recovering. The storage pockets on both doors need attention.
The factory air conditioning is not working but may only need a freon charge.
The prior owner made some minor modifications (K&N air filter, C+L mass air meter, Flowmaster 3 chamber mufflers, BBK X-pipe, and a King Cobra
clutch). The five speed transmission is stock but the rear end was changed to
3:55 gears, so the speedo is off a little.
The car runs but has not been driven since we put it into our collection in 2007 other than for repositioning on our lot. The brakes require pumping to get pressure and should be looked at before driving. We recommend a full mechanical inspection before driving long distances.
