i just found out that the guy that originally built this in the 70's was confined to a wheelchair since childhood. pretty amazing. genuine groovy 70's customized show van. this is a 1969 ford short van that has been highly customized in the 70's for the custom van show circuit back in the day. from what ive heard from people that remember it, it won the atlanta world of wheels at some point and was in one of those custom van magazines that were all over in the 70's and 80's. it has a 302 ford v8 with an automatic transmission. gas tank has been cleaned and ive driven it around the yard. the back door lifts up instead of opening sideways. its electric i think. i cant find a latch on the outside. i havent tried and will not try to open it. the side pipes are fake. it has huge wide centerline wheels in the front and rear covered by fender flares. i think its a sweet machine but my girlfriend hates it. so you know its awesome. it would need a good going through to get everything roadworthy. this van needs a total cosmetic restoration. the mechanicals work good. stops, go's and steers. theres no rust holes anywhere i can see. only surface rust on the floor inside. it looks super solid to me. ok so i got brave today and cleaned out the back area to take some pictures for people......it has a vintage grant steering wheel, theres lots of wires that lead to various speaker holes and pulsating disco lights inside. theres diamond shaped light boxes in the bed. theres a fan back there and speakers too. thick diamond tuck padding everywhere. probably to muffle all the sound that was made while the van was a rockin'. battery is under the bed padding in the rear. theres a mirrored lighted disco floor between the seats and the bed area in the back. theres a wood cabinet inside behind the drivers seat with stained glass doors with a pegasus on them. theres a mirrored mini fridge. homemade upper console is rotten. top clear scoop on the roof is cracked badly. moonroof over the bed is intact. fiberglass insulation was everywhere inside. the door padding and roof padding in the cab has been removed. the bed area padding is intact. it has a vintage "foxy"radar detector. i found a groovy puzzle inside with a classy naked lady sitting on the gound with a majestic pegasus soaring through the sky behind her as if to say...." hey baby... how you doin'? " it has shag carpet under the front seats. the front captains seats are plush velour diamond tuck. the door glass has a flying pegasus etched into the bottom corner of each side. youve probably grown a full manly moustache just reading about its wickedness. i know i have. all youll need to complete it is a c.b. radio and a hot lady with a tube top, short shorts and knee high socks with farrah fawcet hair. this thing would win every show you enter after its fixed. i thought about making it into a different custom van but i dont have the heart. i just want to pass it on so somebody else can recreate or destroy its heritage. i just couldnt decide what would be better restoration or reinvention. heres your chance to live the dream and "ride like the wind". if you want more pictures of the interior and close ups of the wicked 70's pegasus murals you need to include your email address in the message. you can come see it if you like. i'd also be open to trades of pre 1976 project cars. the van is listed locally so i reserve the right to end the auction at any time. zero feedback ebayers must contact me first or i will delete your bid. your bid is a legal and binding contract and will be handled as such. i will not reply to rude or vulgar emails. be nice. you arrange shipping and it doesnt go on the truck till its paid for. 500$ deposit via paypal required within 2 days of auction end. i do not have a title for this van. it is sold on a bill of sale only! vehicles before 85 dont need titles in ga to get tags and insurance. thanks for looking!
