Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is a Colorado 1969 Dodge Charger 383/727 with a tremendously straight body and almost nearly 100% complete. The only thing missing is cars transmission, which unfortunately could not be found. The vehicle has been in Colorado its entire life and has been in storage since 1994. I am selling this vehicle because I don't have time to redo it and I'd like to use the money towards another project. The Charger was originally painted Gold but it appears it was repainted blue and then silver eventually. The interior is all there and seat frames and floor boards are in great condition. The car originally had a vinyl roof and the roof skin was replaced quite a few years ago. There appears to only be surface rust underneath the rear window as well. The only rust needing attention on the entire car is the rear quarters. The engine does not appear to be the original but it is a '69 383 HP engine that still has great compression and turns over freely. All the vehicle glass is there and in good condition without any cracks The Good: Extremely Straight The Grill is in Great Shape/All Lights are in there/Tail section and lights are all good without cracks Great Trunk (Best I've seen on a B-body) Rockers are Great! Checkout how clean the bottom of the doors are in the pictures, GREAT DOORS, very clean! Frame/Engine Bay/Battery Tray/Hood Hinges/Etc all in GREAT SHAPE! Floor Boards are Good Cross Members are Good Interior/Body is Complete An Original 383 Charger Tires are Pretty Much Brand New The Bad: Rear Quarters Need Attention Transmission is missing Fender tag is missing (Have Title/Registration and Sequence #'s all Match up though) While the car doesn't run, it was stored running and Im sure it wouldn't take much to get it back up and going again. This would be a great car to restore and make your own since its mostly all complete or you could also part it out, but with the car having such little work needing to be done to the body I would hope someone would want to restore the car. I am more than happy to answer any additional questions you may have. There is a reserve set on the vehicle and to prevent a ton of people contacting me and asking what its set at I'll tell you that its set at $5,500. I anticipate the vehicle will sell for more than that. The T's & C's. Any bidder having zero or no feedback will need to email me first before bidding on the vehicle or I will delete their bid. All sales are final and the vehicle is being purchased "AS-IS". Once the vehicle has been won the winning bidder will send $500 to my paypal account within 48 hours of the auction closing. The remaining balance will be paid through certified check, money order, or cash before the vehicle leaves my possession. I would appreciate being paid fully and the vehicle picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing. Happy Bidding and contact me with any questions, as I will try to email back within 24 hours. On Sep-03-12 at 08:43:01 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer a few questions I've received. The original drive shaft does come with the car, it has been stored in the trunk. The transmission support that attaches to the crossmember, the associated bolts, etc. all come with the car as well. The car is a 1969, and I apologize for listing it as 1968 in the description, it was a typo and unfortunately I can't go back and correct it now since the auction has started. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thank you! On Sep-04-12 at 13:37:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Many of your have asked for additional pictures of the car. Please see the following public link to Photobucket: http://s1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc368/pringle70/1969%20Dodge%20Charger/ You will see just how little of rust the vehicle actually has on it. The pictures showing along the lip of the hood and trunk didn't turn out well, but there is only minor surface rust in these areas. Also, the entire engine compartment is free of rust, the hood hinges, along the top of the fender and battery tray are all in great shape. You will also see that the underneath of the car is in tremendous condition, including the rockers. The only place needing attention should be the quarters. Thank you!On Sep-04-12 at 14:35:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Transmission Information: I have also been getting a ton of questions regarding the transmission situation on the car. So, if you look at one of the pictures on Ebay (the one with the fingers in it) you'll see that the Charger actually has pedals for a manual transmission currently installed on it. Yes, it doesn have the manual transmission pedals on it currently. Then if you look at one of the pictures from underneath the car you'll see the flanges for the headers along with the bellhousing for the transmission. The bellhousing transmission is that of a manual, which is already attached to the rear of the engine. Just before the car was put in storage the previous owner was in the middle of converting the car into a 4-speed manual (the pedals and bellhousing are already installed obviously) This is also the reason for the original 727 auto going missing from the car. It appears that the majority of the work to convert this car from an automatic into a 4-speed manual has already been done. However, I believe the original pedal assembly for the automatic is still in the trunk of the car, incase you wanted to return it to an auto. Since the car was an automatic to begin with and the transmission was missing I decided to list it as an automatic for this reason, but you could almost consider this car more of a 4-speed manual than an automatic right now. So, if you're looking for a 4-speed car or an automatic then consider this your car, because right now it could pretty much go either way. As always, please let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks! On Sep-06-12 at 08:51:04 PDT, seller added the following information: FYI: I will be leaving today (Thursday afternoon) on a family vacation and will have little access to email/Ebay. I suggest that if you have any more questions or need clarification on anything regarding the vehicle that you email me ASAP. I will try to answer any questions I receive during the remainder of the auction as quickly as I can. Thank you very much and good luck!
