When was the last time you saw a low mileage, well cared for 1979 Mercedes Benz 450SL?  Well, here it is!!!  Original and well cared for by two families.  It is finished in code 404, milan brown on brown interior.  The soft top is still nice, the seats have seat covers on them.  The cushions are still nice.  The piping is coming undone on the lower bolster of the driver's side seat(see video).  The dash has a crack by the instrument cluster(see video).  There is a stack or service records(see photo).  It runs good and shifts good.  Transmission was rebuilt at 54,757, receipt in file.  Timing chain, valve seals also changed.  Previous and current owner was a stickler for maintenance.  There are lots of receipts.  If this car hiccuped, they took it in for service.  It will make a fine addition to someone's Mercedes collection.    The miles are original to the car as evidenced by the documentation in the file.  The most recent service was 08/10/2012 for an electrical servo kit at a cost of $1,291.52.   The power windows all roll up and down with ease.  It rides on 4 matching Michelin tires.  Now you know that if after 33 years, if a car still rides on Michelin's that the owner really truly loves their car.  I took the hardtop off and the soft top looks good too.  The windows are not even stained or tarnished. A/C will need a recharge to blow cold.  Was serviced at the 60K service according to the receipt.   Star magazine has touted the 107 body style SL as the next collectable SL.  Here's your chance to get an original one for NO RESERVE.  Final bid gets to take home this piece of Mercedes history.  If you know Mercedes, you will know that good clean original ones are hard to fine.  It even still sports the original Bundt alloys.
