Vehicle Detail
This car is re-listed from about two weeks ago due to a scammer having won the previous auction. There were a few of you who reached out to me at the end of the auction, but I could not reach out to you after the auction, so I hope you see the car again! First, let me start by telling you why I have set the Buy it Now price so low. I need the money, and the car is not running well. Our youngest started college two weeks ago, and I'm raising cash. I sold my Porsche and motorcycle as well, and the Mercedes needs to go too. I bought this car a year ago, thinking that I would put some money into it's mechanicals, but I haven't. Here are the car's good qualities: Low retail value on the car through NADA is $8,400. Someone has put a lot of money into this car already. It has new paint with clearcoat, a new correct interior, a new dash cover and new carpeting in the interior and trunk. The car really looks good, even close up. I had a new front windshield put in, a new stereo and speakers installed (fit fine in the factory opening), and a new battery installed. The gauges work. All exterior lights work. All door panels and headliner are in good shape. Power sunroof works. Two of the four power windows work. The exhaust sounds fine. I have not driven this car on the road since owning it, but in pulling it in and out of the garage, and turning around in the street, the transmission seems fine (slight hesitation going into reverse if the engine is cold), the power steering seems good, and the brakes seem to be in good working order. Car has air, but no belt on the compressor. I never got to having it fixed. Here are the bads: The car started fine a few weeks ago, but is now struggling to start. Besides the battery being low, there must be something up with the fuel system, because you have to crank it a while to get it to start. There is a haze at the bottom of the back windshield (see picture) that I am told is delamination. The tires are old and show some dry rot. There is a ding in the front bumper. Two of the four power windows don't work. The door and window seals are looking a little dry. I haven't driven the car down the road (especially on those old tires), so I can't comment on the suspension. Interior lights need to be fixed. I have literally no experience with this car mechanically, and it has basically been sitting in the garage for the past year. I'll do my best to answer any questions you have, but I'm not a mechanic, so I'll apologize in advance if I don't know the answer. At the end of the auction, you will need to pick up the car and pay for it in full with cash within seven days of the end of the auction. This car comes with no warranties and a clear title. Good luck with the bidding!
