Vehicle Detail
I have a 1967 Dodge Monaco 4 Door Hardtop powered by a super fast 383 4 barrel Mopar engine. The engine alone would be worth about $4,000 dollars, especially with the mileage that's on the motor itself. The car is in excellent running condition with 48,148 original miles. The car was bought in Franklin, Tn brand new. It stayed in Middle Tennessee up until last year when I moved to Florida. The original owner was an older man who babied the car. When he couldn't drive anymore, the car sat in a barn until 2004 when a guy he knew bought it for his son and him to restore. The car needed nothing when the man took owner ship of it, but it was still off the road. They were going to have it painted, but after a couple years his son was killed by a drunk driver and the father no longer wanted the car around to remind him of what they were going to do to the car. I happened to be driving by a pawn shop in Columbia, Tn in the early part of 2011, and the minute I drove by I knew I wanted the car. I took it for a spin and mechanically it ran as smooth as the day it came off the show room. The tires on the car are the same ones that are on there now, which he put on when he was selling the car, and as you can see their still brand new. If I put 1000 miles on the car it would be lucky. I have the original owners manual, the warranty book, and the original certificard that is located under the hood. It ALSO has the original spare tire and jack that came with the car. I was shocked to see that the car still had the original owners manual, warranty book, and spare tire. That tells you how good the car was taken care of. I promise you it was. When I bought the car, I instantly had it repainted about two weeks later. It has the original factory air compressor that was tested last year and it STILL works after 45 years. The condenser needs to be replaced though, but that isn't a hard job. The interior is original, and in good condition for being 45 years old. The only blemish is on the back seat where it is ripped on top,but that is also an easy fix as well. I had flow masters put on the car as well when I bought it. It sounds so good, especially when you're driving behind it... One thing as far as the exhaust system goes would be that the exhaust manifold gasket will need to be replaced. Its the original gasket and it has been getting loud. I looked the other day and there is a tear in the gasket. The car is the typical 45 year old car, and NOT perfect by any means, but let me tell you with the paint, and the way the car runs A LOT of heads turn. It wouldn't take much for this car to be a show car. If you're particular with bumpers they will also need to be re-chromed. Bumper boys out of California gave me a good price for the bumpers. $1,200 with the trade, and if in the Florida area they will always be at the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona Beach every year. Like I said, the car is a head turner with the color. Everyone that I see tells me how nice the car is, and everyone wants to ride in it. I believe that $8,600 is a great price. I paid $4,000 for the paint job and I have the receipts. It also come with a four year warranty if anything should go wrong with the paint. I has it appraised and it was insured for $12,000, and I could have had it insured for a little bit more. I can tell you right now, that I do NOT want to sell this car. But, I am having some personal problems and unfortunately I cannot keep ownership of the car anymore. Everyone knows how it can be sometimes. I am looking for SERIOUS INQUIRES ONLY, and please no low ball offers. Like I have mentioned, the price of the car is where I feel it should be and what its worth. You will NOT be disappointed with the car. I feel honesty is the best policy and that's the negative and positive about the car. Come take a look and see for yourself. Thank you for reading my descriptive post.
